FT 2-1 and the celebrations begin, a win that they had to work very hard to get.

This opens up the battle for 4th in the league. I certainly don't regret watching this match, it was most enjoyable.

First half was as usual in these finals, but the second was really exciting. Our trademark, 'cross-shot' gave 1-0 lead to Arka, but Raków managed to turn it around. MVP: definitely Ivi López, hopefully he will stay at Raków for another season.

Legia were champions on Wednesday already after Raków failed to win vs Jagiellonia. Another trophy was decided on Sunday, when Raków won the cup themselves. This is their first trophy ever in 100 years of history, so congratulations :applause: Legia won the league for the 16th time, but has 15 official championship titles (one was taken back by PZPN without any evidence of match fixing). Nevertheless, Legia has the most championship titles in Poland and the most trophies overall (apart from 15 official championships also won the domestic cup 19 times).

This wasn't an exciting matchday. So many goalless results say it all. Wisła Płock played quite well surprisingly, but missed penalty and another great chances so it had to end this way. Lech... Please, how many times? They were dominating over Stal, finally found the back of the net, basically nothing should happen there. Stal scored after two long throw-ins, and as you can see above - one of them was an own goal, and the second deep in the injury time. Disastrous from Lech, this is going to be their worst season since their first season after last promotion (2002/03).

Piast are now on 4th place which would be quite a nice option for ECL qualifying. Actually it doesn't make any difference, but for me they look most consistent. The main issue is to keep Jakub Świerczok, who is only on loan from Ludogorets and it will cost a lot of money to sign him permanently. This is the same problem as Warta have with Makana Baku loaned from Holstein Kiel. But really, Lechia, Zagłębie and Śląsk are not convincing at all.

Cracovia will stay in the league for sure for the next season. Wisła Kraków are not totally safe yet though. They will be relegated if:
- they lose their both matches vs Lech and Piast
- Podbeskidzie win by margin of exactly 4 goals vs Wisła Płock and then vs Legia
- Stal Mielec collect at least 4 points in their last three matches (Raków, Legia, Śląsk)
- Wisła Płock draw their last match vs Zagłębie

Then there are three teams with 30 points and Wisła Kraków have worst H2H among them. But well, Podbeskidzie need to score at least four times vs Wisła Płock, so it's not likely to happen.

Realistically speaking, Podbeskidzie are in big trouble now. Stal won two matches miraculously and have still one more match to play (tomorrow vs Raków). Podbeskidzie can be relegated on Saturday already if they fail to win vs Wisła Płock and Stal achieve a better result vs Raków.

Stal Mielec have been denied license for Ekstraklasa 2021/22 season.

Is it a gamechanger? Not yet, they can appeal so they can still get it. No idea if they have serious financial problems (these are the broken criteria), probably more info to follow.

The TOP 3 places are already decided. Legia are champions which is known for a long time. But their last 6 matches are:

It hurts while watching :-x After Legia won 4-2 vs Pogoń they are not putting their best effort so their professionalism is in question. It is much better in the defense (close to the club record when it comes to consecutive clean sheets), but they can't beat even the 14th or 15th team in the league. Next weekend they face Podbeskidzie, who are 16th... And there are some dramas about extending contracts (a lot of players can leave or will negotiate soon). The players would like to know their future but the club is not willing to hurry up.

Raków will get the silver medals which means an outstanding season for them (remember the cup). From their last 7 league matches, they won 6 and drew one. Sometimes they were lucky, like vs Stal, Piast was very inefficient too. But these results are overall deserved. Now the last match vs Pogoń doesn't matter. Pogoń will receive bronze medals which is still their best result in the last 20 years.

Five teams are still competing for the last European spot. There are many variants, let me describe some basics:

- Piast qualify if they win and Śląsk fail to catch up on the overall GD. Or they are qualified with their and Lechia's wins. When it's a draw or loss, then some teams behind them can't win (multiple variants).
- Śląsk qualify if they win and Lechia fail to win and Piast fail to win or have the worse overall GD than Śląsk. There are also two variants when they draw and some others teams fail to win.
- Lechia qualify if they win and Piast fail to win, or they draw, Piast lose, and Śląsk and Zagłębie fail to win.
- Zagłębie qualify if they win and Piast, Lechia and Śląsk all fail to win.
- Warta qualify if they win and Piast and Zagłębie fail to win, and Lechia and Śląsk lose.

So, Piast are still favourites, but are not 100% dependant on themselves. They have better H2H with Lechia, but exactly even with Śląsk (0-2 and 2-0). It's unlikely that Śląsk beat Stal by a high margin as Stal are recently very solid in the defense, but who knows. Please note that last weekend only Śląsk won among these teams and it was a direct clash vs Warta. So it wouldn't be surprising if many of these teams struggle to win on the last matchday too, which opens a chance even for Warta.

Podbeskidzie are almost relegated. They have better H2H vs Stal but have to win and Stal have to lose to change their position. Or Stal fail to get the licence eventually. Probably they didn't fill in some documents, but there's chaos in general, so it's hard to tell if they can successfully appeal.

OMG, what happened here. Five teams were fighting (?) for the 4th place and ECL qualifying, and only one of them won - it was Warta, who were 8th last weekend. Piast were the favourites but they lost to Wisła Kraków, who sacked the coach 2 days before this match (player and owner in one person, Jakub Błaszczykowski, had enough of Peter Hyballa). Jakub Świerczok missed a penalty that could be a 2-2 equalizer. Then Piast missed other chances too.

Śląsk scored early (goal of the week by Mączyński - https://streamable.com/v6d750) and had an opportunity to end this match in the added time. Instead, they conceded, which rescued Stal for sure and Śląsk could be in trouble. At the same time, Lechia scored an equalizer in Białystok, but it was disallowed. That was a correct decision, but penalty for Jagiellonia in the first half was fake (Jagiellonia player touched the ball with his hand first). Apart from that... Just see it. Podbeskidzie are relegated. They can still hope that Stal won't get the license but they will probably get it. The decision should be known this week.

But this is not the end of the season. Tomorrow (on Monday) we will learn Ekstraklasa individual awards. Then we have plenty of matches in I liga and other lower divisions in Poland. Of course I will try to keep track of them for you.

Bruk-Bet need one more point to advance to Ekstraklasa. GKS Bełchatów are closer to be relegated, their match vs Radomiak was postponed by an hour because one of the floodlights was burning. And Radomiak are going to play in Bełchatów in case they advance to Ekstraklasa... Perfect rehearsal for them.

Górnik Łęczna and Miedź lost, so multiple teams can still be engaged in fight for the play-offs.

In II liga, Górnik Polkowice will advance to I liga if they win their postponed match vs Znicz on Wednesday. 2nd GKS Katowice and 3rd Chojniczanka play each other next weekend.

Bruk-Bet still haven't assured themselves promotion as they lost vs Odra and both Radomiak and GKS Tychy won. Even Bełchatów are still alive after they won vs Chrobry, but they need to be tied with a team (or teams) they have a better H2H with. Otherwise they are relegated.

The play-offs fight is even more interesting, Miedź and Odra almost caught Górnik Łęczna, who eventually drew vs Stomil. Miedź have better H2H with Odra, and neutral with Górnik and the same goal difference (+13). If Miedź and Górnik are tied, goals scored can be the next tie breaker.

Next week will see a.o. Bruk-Bet visiting ŁKS and Arka facing Radomiak. At the bottom, Bełchatów play vs Jastrzębie.

Recent matches in I liga are really exciting! Bruk-Bet lost another game and still can't have the promotion assured. Vs ŁKS, they got a 'soft' penalty and equalized in the 89th minute, but ŁKS got a penalty in minute 90+8 to score the winner just before the final whistle.

Radomiak won comfortably in Gdynia and are the new leaders. But they still are not certain to be promoted because GKS Tychy also won this weekend.

Radomiak and Bruk-Bet both need one point in their last matches to secure the promotion. They are also both promoted if Tychy fail to win. If all these teams are equal on points, then Bruk-Bet and Tychy are promoted.

Arka and ŁKS are the teams to participate in promotion play-offs for sure. The 6th team will be either Górnik Łęczna or Miedź. Miedź will be 6th if they win and Łęczna lose. That's because their H2H is neutral and Miedź will have a better goal difference then (currently they have +13 and Łęczna +14; which will change obviously if the former win and the latter lose). Odra are definitely out of race.

Bełchatów are definitely relegated.

In II liga, Górnik Polkowice are already promoted. The second team promoted will be either GKS Katowice or Chojniczanka Chojnice. Wigry Suwałki and KKS Kalisz will participate in promotion play-offs for sure and several teams will still fight for the last spot. Bytovia Bytów are already relegated to III liga to their relevant group.
