so the teams battling for the playoff spots are loosing points. this makes that battle very intense as there are no many teams that can hope to reach the playoffs.
but now FCSB has a good cushion to secure the 2nd place. CFR already had a cushion. Realistically I think FCSB is now the only team that can stop CFR from winning another title, it will be hard to do so without a coach. although CFR might have some financial problems. And Dan Petrescu (CFR coach) was offered the Romanian national team coach position. He didn't reject the offer yet and reports are that CFR are willing to let him go for free if he so desires. He said he will announce his decision after the last game of the year.

This weekend we restart the Liga 1. A couple of years back we started at the end of February. But truth be told this year there is no winter in romania. Plus I think the fields are a bit better than 10 years ago for the most parth.

Matchday 22
January 21
FC Arges - FC Dinamo 1948
January 22
Chindia Târgoviște - FC Voluntari
Universitatea Craiova - FC RAPID
January 23
CS Mioveni - Academica Clinceni
UTA Arad - Gaz Metan
FCSB - FC CFR 1907 Cluj
January 24
FC Botoșani - SEPSI OSK
FC Farul - U Craiova 1948

Some interesting games this matchday. The highlight obviously:
FCSB - CFR
richest teams and the ones that have the most expensive players. again CFR is the more experienced team and the one that actually has a coach, has handles these important matches much better than FCSB in the last years. I still think FCSB has more "talented" players.

another interesting match could be:
Universitatea Craiova - FC RAPID
but there is a Covid outburst at Universitatea. and they might not be able to field 13 players (among which 2 goalkeepers). They will try to push the game 2-3 days, they should get a couple players back in the period. but currently the broadcasters are refusing. if they can't field 13 players the game will be postponed once regardless of the broadcaster opinion. Again for our teams if they get one case of Covid they usually spread it to the whole team. again comparing with Milan. they just had 4 players and even those overlapped for less than a week.

Old news now but FCSB manage to keep the title fight open by equalizing CFR in the last minute. Since than CFR didn t manage to win and will continue to have a harder schedule than FCSB. FCSB has only one hard medium game the rest are "easy". But of course even today showed that those easy games are not that easy. Didn t manage to reduce the gap to only 6 points, just managed to get a draw with a penalty afrer the 90 minute.

CFR lost a lot of point in the last matchdays, which to some point was expected as they had a very hard schedule. FCSB didn't manage to take advantage because they stumbled against small teams.
Dinamo is rising in the rankings, but not only because of their own wins. Gaz Metan is being deducted more and more. There seem to be huge problems there. Some strange things are happening there as Gaz Metan never had a huge budget and huge salaries so not sure why they don't have money to pay the debts.

Rapid had a series of bad results after impressive initially and fighting for the playoff. but last series was decisive and they decided to change the coach. I wasn't a fan of the one that leaves. But they will bring Adrian Mutu to the team. For one he is not very experienced and is also a Dinamo "symbol" so doesn't sound like a great idea.

In the meanwhile FCSB has started to have bad results and reports are that they will change the coach as well. but in reality as I mentioned on other occasions: They don't have a real coach to begin with it. the first 11 and changes are decided by the owner.
