Big win for Barry Town United away against last season’s champions Connah's Quay Nomads (3-2), with Kayne McLaggon scoring two goals in the second half!

Also, Flint Town United 2–2 Cardiff MU; big opportunity missed by Flint Town United to gain an advantage for the second position and qualification for ECL-Q1.

In Cymru South, Pontypridd Town AFC 1–1 Swansea University FC, so Llantwit Major overtakes Pontypridd Town AFC and is now top. Llantwit Major vs Pontypridd Town AFC on the 12th! SU FC is now on seventh position and hosts Trefelin BGC (from Port Talbot) on the 12th.

That would have been a 'dream season' for Cefn Druids! :grin1: In 19 matches this season, they have 2 points and 0-2-17 W-D-L!
TNS vs Cefn Druids tomorrow, so I don't see the record improving!

The New Saints 5-1 Cefn Druids, with all goals scored in the second half! TNS scored 5 goals within 20 minutes!

Also, Aberystwyth Town 2-0 Haverfordwest County and Aberystwyth Town gets some breathing space in the relegation battle.

Big win for Connah's Quay Nomads against 3rd-placed Flint Town United (2-0) in the ‘super-local’ derby (stadiums 4 km apart), and the Nomads will probably enter the Championship group.
Barry Town United 0–0 Penybont and both clubs are left disappointed.
Also, Cefn Druids 1–4 The New Saints and TNS now have a 21-point lead at the top!

Interestingly, the difference between the clubs in second and tenth positions is just 12 points! Tighter than an Olympian's spandex!

Cardiff MU 1–1 Newtown, which means that all four clubs below TNS lost points in this MD; TNS are even closer to winning the title!
With one MD to go, The New Saints, Penybont, Newtown, Flint Town United and Bala Town are guaranteed a top-6 finish (Championship group). The last position in the Championship group will be between Connah's Quay Nomads, Caernarfon Town and Cardiff MU.

In Cymru South, Llantwit Major 3–1 Pontypridd Town AFC, so Llantwit Major FC (from Llantwit Major, close to Bridgend) looks good for promotion to Cymru Premier! The population of the town is about 10,000 people.
Port Talbot Town will probably finish with more than -100 GD!

Welsh Cup QFs (single matches):

Penybont 3–2 Taff's Well. Taff's Well FC plays in Cymru South (2) and is from the village of Taff's Well, just north of Cardiff. The village contains the only thermal spring in Wales (22 degrees C average water temperature), which is similar to the warm springs at Bath (the Roman baths in Bath were built between 60-70 AD and were in public use until about 400 AD). Penybont FC is from Bridgend and it is on second position in Cymru Premier (1). However, Taff's Well led 1-2 until the 87th minute, when two goals by Penybont gave them the victory and qualification to the SFs!

Bala Town 2-1 Aberystwyth Town

Connah's Quay Nomads 0-2 Colwyn Bay. Big win and qualification by Colwyn Bay against last season's champions! They are from the town of Old Colwyn and compete in Cymru North (2).

The New Saints 2-0 Guilsfield

So we'll have in the SFs three first division clubs and one second division club. The SF draw will take place on 21 February.

A postponed match from MD18 was played today: Newtown 0-0 Cardiff MU. This means that Cardiff MU will definitely be in the Relegation Group.
Either Connah's Quay Nomads or Caernarfon Town will be the last club in the Championship Group. February 26th is the final MD of the regular season.

Caernarfon Town plays Barry Town United away and they need to beat them by at least 11 goals difference to have any chance of overtaking Connah's Quay (they play Newtown away) and taking the last position in the Championship Group.

Welsh Cup SFs (single matches):

Penybont vs Bala Town
The New Saints vs Colwyn Bay (2)

Semi-final ties will be played at neutral venues on 19/20 March 2022.

TNS could reach the Cup final without having played against any first division club!

The regular season was completed today with no drama.

Caernafon Town beat Barry Town United 2-1 away, but that was not enough to enter the Championship group.

TNS is 21 points ahead of the second-placed club. Just 3 points between clubs in positions 2-6 (Penybont, Newtown, Flint Town United, Connah's Quay Nomads and Bala Town), so there will be a good battle for the second position that leads to ECL-Q1!

Also, just 6 points between clubs in positions 8-11 (Cardiff Metropolitan University, Aberystwyth Town, Barry Town United and Haverfordwest County), so there will be a good battle to avoid 11th position!
Cefn Druids just have two points and seem doomed.

Championship group, MD1: Big away wins for TNS, Bala Town and Caernarfon Town! TNS play Bala Town today at home!

Relegation group, MD1: Big away win for Haverfordwest County against Barry Town United. Also, Cefn Druids 3-3 Aberystwyth Town; this is just the third point for Cefn Druids after 23 MDs.

Little problem for TNS against Bala Town and they qualify for European football! They can be champions in the next MD after missing out to Connah's Quay Nomads in the two previous seasons!
Connah's Quay Nomads are in 11th position and prime candidates for relegation (together with Cefn Druids).

Bala Town 3-2 Flint Town United, Caernarfon Town 0-4 Newtown and The New Saints 3-3 Penybont, so TNS are champions. Bala Town has had the best results so far in the Second phase (Championship group) and they are second on the table.

In the Relegation group, big win for Connah's Quay Nomads against Barry Town United (2-0) and the two clubs will battle to avoid relegation.

In Cymru South, Swansea University FC has been doing quite well and it is on 7th position with 6 MDs to go.
Llantwit Major FC keeps on winning and they will probably be promoted. They are from the town of Llantwit Major (population 9,500), close to Bridgend.

Port Talbot Town has 0 points after 24 MDs, a -102 GD and has been relegated.
They had played against Finnish TPS (Turun Palloseura) Turku in 2010-11 EL-Q1 and were eliminated by a 1-7 aggregate score.

Cymru Premier Relegation group:
Connah's Quay 5-0 Cefn Druids, Cardiff MU 1-1 Barry Town United and Aberystwyth Town 0-6 Haverfordwest County, so Cefn Druids (from Wrexham) are relegated. The other relegated club will either be Connah's Quay or Barry Town United or Aberystwyth Town. Aberystwyth Town vs Barry Town United next Friday!
