Gladbach lits up a fire under Leipzig, Freiburg is now 4th and Leipzig is 5th !
If Bayer Leverkusen and Freiburg both win on saturday (not easy) Bayer will assure a CL spot and potentially could make a very bad joke to Leipzig (there's a Bayer Leverkusen - Freiburg in the last matchday).
Theoretically Koln and Union are still in the CL race
(Union lost two points against Furth at home, otherwise Freiburg - Union would have been even more interesting).

Yes, and this scenario would fit sneaky Freiburg perfectly. Eintracht and Leipzig only thinking about the 2nd leg in the EL semi finals, so they struggle a bit in the Bundesliga. A feeling that Freiburg will never know, at least when we speak about European cups and not the domestic one. They prefer to suck in Europe and then they have the power to score some goals from set pieces. This team would be cannon fodder in CL, especially as they'd be in pot 4. Come on Union, do something.matt wrote: ↑Mon May 02, 2022 22:45If Bayer Leverkusen and Freiburg both win on saturday (not easy) Bayer will assure a CL spot and potentially could make a very bad joke to Leipzig (there's a Bayer Leverkusen - Freiburg in the last matchday).

I would love to see Freiburg in UCL. They would be last in their group? Maybe. It would be just one year, though.
One of features of Bundesliga is that any club that work hard can materialize the dream of playing UCL.
Given said that. I initially thought Leipzig and Freiburg would be Top4, but now I guess Leipzig and Leverkusen will be.
Leverkusen (58): Hoffenheim (A), Freiburg (H)
Freiburg (55): Union (H), Leverkusen (A)
Leipzig (54): Augsburg (H), Arminia (A)

Bundesliga MD33 from 5/6 to 5/8. My order to watch:
Best 3 games: Leipzig-Augsburg, Hoffenheim-Leverkusen, Freiburg-Union
Next 3 games: Köln-Wolfsburg, Hertha-Mainz, Bochum-Arminia
Last 3 games: Bayern-Stuttgart, Fürth-Dortmund, Frankfurt-Gladbach
Frankfurt making Bundesliga proud. It's all or nothing for them on 5/18 against the Power Rangers.

Darmstadt lost in Düsseldorf, so Schalke have the chance to clinch Bundesliga return at home against St. Pauli (20.30 CET). Would be a great party there, I hope they make it.
on 13.30, HSV can jump to 2nd place if they beat 96. At least for one night. Bremen should win in Aue too, but overtaking Darmstadt before the final MD would be a huge step for Hamburg.

They heard your call for help!

HSV won and have a vastly superior goal difference over the rest of the contenders, so a win in the last round will guarantee them at least a play-off against Stuttgart.

In parenthesis also the position of the last team that finally made it (reaching Top7) after MD34.
2011-12 (6/7, 8th → 6th, Stuttgart)
2012-13 (6/7, 10th → 7th, Hamburg)
2013-14 (6/7, 9th → 7th, Mainz)
2014-15 (6/7, 17th → 7th, Dortmund)
2015-16 (6/7, 8th → 6th, Mainz)
2016-17 (6/7, 9th → 7th, Freiburg)
2017-18 (6/7, 14th → 7th, Stuttgart)
2018-19 (6/7, 9th → 4th, Leverkusen)
2019-20 (6/7, 9th → 7th, Freiburg)
2020-21 (6/7, 8th → 5th, Frankfurt)
2021-22 (6/7?, ??? → ???, ????????)
In two seasons, being 7th was not enough to gain the european ticket, though.
- In 2012-13, instead of the 7th, Hamburg, it was the 13th, Stuttgart as Pokal runner-up.
- In 2017-18, instead of the 7th, Stuttgart, it was the 8th, Frankfurt, as Pokal champion.
While my intuition tells me that maybe 2 or even 3 teams could get into top7, the cold numbers say exactly one team will be replaced within Top7. A little bit surprising to be honest. We will see.
Unlike 10 previous seasons, two teams instead of only one, that were out of Top7 at the end if the Hinrunde, climbed to get the european ticket: Köln and Leipzig.

Yes. A big thank you to Köpenick.
But a Leipzig loss at Augsburg is far from impossible when we look at RB's form, so I won't celebrate too much right now. At least one point is a must.
It looks like Köln will play in the ECL, which is better than Freiburg who could bottle even this in the playoffs. Especially if the German team is unseeded there. Union could create home atmospheres like Eintracht in the EL if they could play in their own stadium in Europe, a pity they have to use this huge Hertha stadium with athletic track between pitch and fans. It costs them a lot of points, I believe.
And they did after losing 0:2 at half time. It didn't look likely early in the season.BurningStorm wrote: ↑Sat May 07, 2022 12:17 Darmstadt lost in Düsseldorf, so Schalke have the chance to clinch Bundesliga return at home against St. Pauli (20.30 CET). Sankt Pauli are all but mathenatically out of race as their GD is 9 goals worse than Darmstadt's.
