The Challenge Cup is interesting for comparing the strength between Scottish, Welsh and Northern Irish clubs.
Northern Irish clubs Cliftonville and Coleraine were eliminated on the Third Round by second- and third-division Scottish clubs (Championship and League One clubs).
Welsh club Bala Town was eliminated on the Third Round by a Scottish Championship club.
On the other hand, The New Saints eliminated Hibernian B, a Scottish League Two club, a Scottish League One club and a Scottish Championship club, before losing in the final to a Scottish Championship club.
This would indicate that the level of Northern Irish and most Welsh clubs is below the level of Scottish Championship clubs, and that the best Welsh clubs are about equal in strength to Scottish Championship clubs. :umnik:

But the best Northern Irish clubs (Linfield or Larne) didn't play in the Challenge Cup.

I consider Cliftonville a top NI club.

Still Cliftonville lost to the runner up of the Championship while TNS only beated the last placed team of the Championship plus lower league clubs, with the win over Falkirk, who dominated Scottish League One and eliminated Dundee United in the Challenge Cup, being the most impressive.

Larne vs TNS in Europe would be nice, it's probable as well they'll likely be in the same draw group.

Yes, but also Airdrieonians narrowly beat TNS in the Challenge Cup final (2-1). Airdrieonians have qualified to the Scottish Premiership play-off quarter-final, so one could say that TNS was narrowly beaten by a club that is 'close to gaining promotion' to the Scottish Premiership!

In 2022 Linfield eliminated TNS from the Champions League in a very close tie, while in 2021 Larne eliminated Bala Town from the ECL.
The top NI teams recently switched to full professionalism (Linfield, Larne, Glentoran, maybe also Crusaders and Cliftonville, i'm not sure about the latter two), while i have no idea about TNS.

TNS and the Nomads are fully-professional.

We have the Svenska Cupen final at the moment and Malmö FF 1-1 Djurgårdens IF after 90'. The clubs are on 1st and 4th position respectively in both 2023 Allsvenskan and 2024 Allsvenskan! :grin1:

Malmö FF wins the Cup on penalties!

I don't know if anyone is watching Rapid - Sturm, but I have to say that TV coverage for this match is very poor. I've never seen such main camera angle before and to me it is very annoying.

Ruzomberok won the Slovak Cup against Trnava, earning themselves at least four european games in the summer.

Sturm Graz won the Austrian Cup. Now they will try to win the main domestic trophy.
