Amazing comeback by Antwerp against Club Brugge (0-2 to 3-2 in 97')

So far Antwerp did great with 3 wins in 3 games. Can they win another trophy ?

Regular season leaders Genk, on the other hand, are in trouble with 2 defeats against their main opponents for the title.

In the other play-offs, it's too easy for Gent which will likely qualify for Europe anytime soon.

Club Brugge 2-0 Antwerp

1st win for Club Brugge & 1st loss for Antwerp.
Since Club Brugge have nothing to play for, Antwerp missed a great opportunity.

Genk 1-1 Union SG

Genk probably wasted its last chance. They need a miracle now to win the title.

--

Next MD - Antwerp v Union SG
The most crucial game of the season for both teams.
If Antwerp win this, they are mathematically champions.

Antwerp 1-1 Union SG

Another great opportunity missed by Antwerp. They couldn't defeat Union Saint-Gilloise at home despite opening the score and playing against 10 men for more than 30 minutes.

Now Antwerp probably must win in Genk next matchday.

If Genk wins today:
Antwerp: 46
Union SG: 45.5
Genk: 44.5
Brugge: 32.5

MD38:
Genk - Antwerp
Union SG - Brugge

Antwerp champion if:
-They win
-They draw and Union SG doesn't win.

Union SG champion if:
-They win and Antwerp doesn't win.

Genk champion if:
-They win and Union SG doesn't win.

If Genk and Union SG are tied for second place (Genk - Antwerp X and Union SG - Brugge 2), Genk will be ahead (the tiebreaker is the position in the regular season).

I can't see any other result than Union SG winning against Club Brugge at home.
Brugge players will already be thinking about holidays.

So for Antwerp -

1st with a win
2nd with a draw
3rd with a loss

(Assuming Genk get 3 points at Brugge)

What a crazy ending.

USG is worthy to be called Belgian Dortmund from today.

What a choke against an opponent with nothing to play for after the 90th minute...

RUSG completely bottled it, Antwerp won the title thanks to Club Brugge.
The problem must be the color, yellow.

I don't know if it's worse for USG or Genk fans tonight.

Genk were ahead two times, won the regular season. USG were winning, would have been enough because Antwerp didn't won, title missed at the end for the second season in a row.

what an incredible turnaround in the extra times of both matches...
Union started as champion, then Genk was it and then Antwerp.
And in the end Union even lost the 2nd spot
Unbelievable.. Spielberg couldn't have written such a scenario

Antwerp has a bad name for me, due to Overmars, but what a fantastic end....

What was wrong with Union's second goal? I thought it was 2:0...

Union loses the title against Brugge... again.
Brugge had nothing to win, yet they gave everything within the last minutes. Union did it like Dortmund.
Brugge gave away the title to a club they hate.
Union only have themselves to blame.
Genk can probably blame part of it on the referee who could have given them 2 penalty.

Antwerp makes the first double in Belgium since 1996. And first league title since 1957.
