not entirely surprising Gerhard Struber will be the new Head Coach of FC Red Bull Salzburg. He started his career for 8 years within RB Youth after that he became head coach in Wolfsberg, Barnsley and New York Red Bulls. So he is aware of RB philosophy and the way how to play football which is very important for the club too. In his opening interview he mentioned to play dynamic, very proactive and again cool football which is anyway often connected with wins. Indirectly he referred to Matthias Jaissle who was successful in his two years as head coach but increasingly had to resist criticism for maintaining an unspectacular style of play (Jaissle in his short active career was defender). From internal circles it came out too that Jaissle was also very distant to his players and not very popular. It is also expected that Struber will treat his fans very differently than his predecessor as he has got a very open personality.
To his new team he said: "the squad is more than sexy. At the same time we always keep our eyes open. At the moment the squad is at a very high level".
.... and this despite of some of important changes in the team?!

Red Bull Salzburg’s team for the new season is almost set up. In defence they could keep all key players so far and hopefully non of them will leave there are only young replacements. Pavlovic will stay for one more year at least he wants it so and Solet is still a bit questionable as some clubs show interest. The players who left in midfield and esp. in attack (Šeško, Okafor, Adamu) can be replaced well. But it looks like more and more that there is one outstanding player emerging in this squad:
Karim Konate (19) from CIV they bought about 2 yrs ago. He is already considered the next Drogba in his country. WHAT A BEAST this player is! He got some matches in spring already coming from FC Liefering and for weeks he is scoring regularly, often enough double packs no matter against whom from SV Ardagger to Inter still in this week. It’s not just scoring it’s his style and appearance too. He literally explodes in the box have a good sense where the ball could be next and despite not being tall he always finds a way for scoring even by header. When he enters the box there is havoc in opponent’s defence like when a fox enters the chicken coop. Against HSV in July he had a run through the whole box playing out couple of defenders. RB officials despite being rather reserved said he is one of the very best players (there were Haaland, Sadio Mane, Adeyemi etc) they ever had in Salzburg and he will make great career.
Just my guess and there are no rumours at all yet. He might be the first player going straight from Salzburg to Bayern without detour to Leipzig. The new sports manager of Bayern Christoph Freund (his leaving to Bayern hurts RB Salzburg much more than the one of Jaissle) is so much fond of him and he will certainly Bayern make remind of him in time.

Andy Irving (23) is a Scottish footballplayer originally from Heart of Midlothian and he joined Austria Klagenfurt in May 2022.
Peter Pacult former Rapid player and manager in different countries formed him to a classy player. He believed in him at the beginning and he liked his professionalism his discipline and all over his good mentality and humour. These are the ingredients to make career. Meanwhile he is one of the best midfield players in Bundeslige and certainly already under the scope of greater clubs. I am sure if he were Austrian nationality Ralf Rangnick despite having many good midfieldplayers in his team he already would have noted him in his notebook. If I am able to watch a match from Austria Klagenfurt it's mainly because of him of outstanding Andy Irving he is beside of methusalem Andi Ulmer from RBS the best Andy we have.

Here is an interesting interview with Andy Irving.

What are the similarities and differences between football in Scotland and in Germany and Austria?

“In Scotland, the game is very physical and fast-paced at all times. That is not to say that there aren’t teams in Scotland who play expansive football and have technically good players because there certainly are.

“However, in Germany and Austria, the game is more tactical in comparison and the demands in each game is different. Teams over here tend to have a set plan and a way of playing that they do not overly change depending on the opponent".
