Just glad you did not actually bet on it. Otherwise, you would have a heart attack until the last minute. Fiji almost hanged on to penalties (there is no extra time in this tournament).

Concacaf's eight best Women's U-17 teams will compete in February 2024 for the regional title and three available spots in the 2024 FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup.

Tournament will take place at the Mexican Football Federation headquarters, in Toluca, Mexico.

The official draw is scheduled for October 3, 2023.

Four Concacaf nations, including the host Dominican Republic, will participate in next year's FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup.

Miami, FL - Concacaf has announced that Mexico will host the 2024 Concacaf Women's U-17 Championship. The qualifying competition for the FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup Dominican Republic 2024 will take place from February 1-11, 2024, at the headquarters of the Mexican Football Federation in Toluca, Mexico.

"We look forward to returning to Mexico for this important Concacaf women´s competition. This event will showcase the Confederation´s top U-17 women´s national teams as they compete for a berth at the FIFA U-17 Women´s World Cup 2024, a tournament that is greatly anticipated in our region as it will be hosted in the Dominican Republic", said Concacaf General Secretary Phillipe Moggio. "I also want to thank the Mexican Football Federation for opening the doors to their state-of-the-art headquarters for this Championship, which promises to be a great opportunity for most talented young players from across Concacaf", added Moggio.

The tournament will begin with an eight-team Group Stage consisting of the top two ranked nations, Mexico and the United States, and the six qualifying stage winners, Canada, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Haiti, Panama, and Puerto Rico (details on the 2023 Concacaf Women's U-17 Qualifiers are available here). https://www.concacaf.com/under-17s-wome ... mpionship/

After Group Stage round-robin play, where each team will dispute three matches, the two group winners and runners-up will advance to the Knockout Stage.

The Knockout Stage will be played in a single-match direct elimination format, including Semifinals, Third-Place Match, and Final. At the conclusion of the event, the top three finishers will join the Dominican Republic (World Cup host) in the 2024 FIFA Women's U-17 World Cup, for a total of four Concacaf participants.

The official draw for the 2024 Concacaf Women's U-17 Championship is scheduled for October 3, 2023, at the Concacaf Headquarters in Miami, FL. In this made-for-tv event, the participating teams will be divided into two groups of four. Fans can follow all the action starting at 11:00 a.m. ET on Concacaf.com and the Confederation's social media platforms.

For the draw, the eight teams have been split into four pots according to their ranking as of September 2023: https://www.concacaf.com/rankings/women-s-under-17/

Pot 2: Canada and Haiti
Pot 3: Costa Rica and Puerto Rico
Pot 4: El Salvador and Panama

Teams will be placed into Groups A and B according to the order they are drawn, with no more than one team from each pot per group.

In the third-place match, Canada topped Puerto Rico 3-0 to secure a birth for India's 2022 FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup.

In June of 2023, the FIFA Council appointed the Dominican Republic as the host of the FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup 2024. This will be the first time the Dominican Republic hosts a FIFA World Cup and their first participation at this age level. Further details on the 16-team World Cup will be confirmed by FIFA in due course.
