Technically yes, but in Scotland vs Serbia and Ireland vs Belgium England needs a winner but in both matches with a draw both teams qualify.Jackson Harrison wrote: ↑Mon Nov 20, 2023 22:24So we can still go through realistically?

Are you sure?TommyChat wrote: ↑Mon Nov 20, 2023 22:30Technically yes, but in Scotland vs Serbia and Ireland vs Belgium England needs a winner but in both matches with a draw both teams qualify.
With a ties, Serbia and Ireland can still finish 3rd in the group and if both happen one of them might not qualify. Am I missing some tiebreaker or something else?
With a 2-2 draw they are 2nd. Goals scored in h2h games is above total goal difference.Sagy wrote: ↑Mon Nov 20, 2023 23:53Are you sure?

The short answer is that England are neither certain of advancing to the elite round, nor certain of elimination. All will be decided based on results of today, more specifically results of Groups 3, 4, 7, 8, and 13, as it is still possible for the third-placed teams in these groups to obtain 2 or more points in their matches against the top two.
What is the more embarrassing result?
Sweden 0-0 Liechtenstein in Group 4 matchday 2?
Or Andorra 2-1 Bulgaria in Group 3 matchday 3?
And both Sweden and Bulgaria are playing at home.
Looks like their U19 teams are as bad as their senior teams...

And from 2025 World Cup! We'd better bid to host now!
Agreed. I didn’t say that they can’t both qualify. I said that with ties, they can (not will) finish 3rd and if they do, they might miss on qualifying. The original statement was that if they tie, they are guaranteed to qualify.TommyChat wrote: ↑Tue Nov 21, 2023 08:31With a 2-2 draw they are 2nd. That is one of those misleading results as far as Sweden are concerned.
I watched them outplay Italy this evening but they could only draw 2:2 - in the process missing some good chances and faced by some good goalkeeping - and are therefore eliminated from EURO U19 2024.
Sweden's team has plenty of talented players, believe me.
Gah, didn't make it, but it was a long shot.
Thanks anyway for doing your thing, @amenina

2023/24 Under-19 EURO elite round draw
https://www.uefa.com/under19/news/0283- ... -december/
The UEFA European Under-19 Championship elite round draw streamed live at 10:30 CET on 7 December will set seven groups for the single-venue mini-tournaments to be played from 18 to 26 March.
Contenders
Austria, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Czechia, Denmark, France, Georgia, Germany, Greece, Israel, Italy (holders), Kosovo, Latvia, Lithuania, Montenegro, Netherlands, North Macedonia, Norway, Portugal (bye), Romania, Scotland, Serbia, Slovenia, Spain, Switzerland, Türkiye, Ukraine
In the elite round, the 27 teams that emerged from the qualifying round join top seeds Portugal, who enter at this stage.
The elite round group winners will join hosts Northern Ireland in the finals from 15 to 28 July, which also act as UEFA's qualifier for the 2025 FIFA U-20 World Cup.
Draw procedure: https://editorial.uefa.com/resources/02 ... 4_-_en.pdf
The 28 associations participating in the elite round are split into four pots based on their results in the qualifying round. https://editorial.uefa.com/resources/02 ... nts_er.pdf
Pot A: Portugal, Spain, Netherlands, Norway, Scotland, Türkiye, Switzerland
Pot B: Israel, Germany, Denmark, Czechia, Belgium, Austria, Ukraine
Pot C: Kosovo, Croatia, North Macedonia, France, Serbia, Georgia, Bosnia and Herzegovina
Pot D: Romania, Slovenia, Italy, Montenegro, Latvia, Lithuania, Greece
The draw will start with Pot A and end with Pot D. Each pot will be emptied before moving to the next pot.
The teams in Pot A will be drawn one after another and placed in the first position in Groups 1 to 7.
The teams in Pot B will be drawn one after another and each one placed in the second position in one of the seven groups, and the procedure repeated for Pots C (third position) and Pot D (fourth position).
On the basis of decisions taken by the UEFA Executive Committee and the UEFA Emergency Panel, valid at the time of the draws, the following countries cannot be drawn into the same group: Belarus and Ukraine.
The teams will be allocated to groups in ascending order in such a way as to ensure that no winners and runners-up from the same qualifying group meet each other in the elite round. If clashes arise, the team drawn will be moved to the next available group. The draw continues by first filling the slot left vacant. If clashes arise in the last three or four groups, the teams will be allocated to groups appropriately. There is no protection with regard to Greece, who went through as the best third-place finisher in the qualifying round.
Team guide
Italy are the defending champions, after beating Portugal last July in Malta to win their second U19 title since the switch to the current classification in 2001/02. Norway and Spain were beaten semi-finalists, while among the elite round contenders this time around, Greece also qualified.
Other past winners in the draw other than Italy are Spain (8 from a record 13 qualifications), France (3), Germany (2), Portugal (1), Serbia (1) and Ukraine (1).
Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Latvia, Montenegro and North Macedonia are aiming to reach the U19 finals for the first time.
