Nations League Overall Ranking.
After all the playoff matches in march 2025.
Position 9-12 and 13-16.
Which Nations will be ranked 9-12? The Group Winners from League B or the winners of Playoff Matches between number 3 in League A and number 2 from League B?

I think that depends on the outcome of the playoffs... A3 will be above B1, but B2 will be below B1 if they win the playoffs.
So if two A and two B teams win the playoffs... 9-10 A3, 11-14 B1, 15-16 B2, 17-18 A3, 19-20 B2

This makes sense for me.Thanx. Besides. What do you think about that Nations League winner not automatcally are not guaranteed playoff for World Cup. Maybe it will be A secondplaced nation in League A which win Nations League final.

Do you mean direct qualification for world cup? Why should it be? It is separate competition.

If you are talking about secured playoff, then, uefa wants to keep the story about group winners as certain participants.

No, I am talking about there will be 12 direct qualified group winners for FIFA World Cup and 12 runners up from Group Stage together with 4 Group Winners from Nations League going for playoff for FIFA World Cup. 16 Nations fighting about 4 spots. Because A nation which end on second place in League A can win the Nations League final this winner are not guaranteed playoff for FIFA World Cup.

As I wrote in the second sentence, no matter who wins the Nations League, only group winners will secure the playoff. Those teams will be based on interim overall ranking, rather than final ranking.

@amenina so say after this NL the war stops and Russia's suspension is lifted by FIFA for next season will Russia start again in League D or where they left off in League B? I hope the latter as putting them in a League D group would be deeply unfair as all the other teams would get 2*beat downs by them and have no chance of automatic promotion.

Russia is already in league C (they were demoted from league B after not participating in the last NL).

They were banned.

League C has 16 teams so will they be put back there or left in League D?

If Russia will be put back to league C, then one team more than planned will be relegated to league D. How can it be done? I don't think so.

Guatemala was disqualified from concacaf nations league and after lifting disqualification put automatically to the lowest league C.

I find that as only solution in this case too.

But whoever is in there group will have no chance to promote as they’ll get 18 points.

wouldn't surprise me if there is another reform of Nations League, eg scrap League D (so League C takes in every country outside Europe's top 32, so 22+Russia?) similar to the Women's game.

Based on promotion/relegation, league C could have 5 groups, but how to handle playoff for euro?
Due to current system, all group winners should secure at least play-off, having 5 group winners means one needs to be eliminated.
