The final is in Bilbao in a large stadium for the 1st time which is progress right!

I didn't consider the absence Russia 🇷🇺 in my calculations either hence why I thought a PR would happen

Draw procedure

Clubs are seeded for round 1 in accordance with the club coefficient rankings established at the beginning of the season.
In the champions path, the teams are divided into two pots: seeded and unseeded.
The 22 seeded teams in Pot 1 will be drawn into home team positions of the semi-finals of the groups in numerical order, starting with Group 1 and completing the draw with Group 11, as follows:
- The first ball drawn is allocated to semi-final 1 in Group 1
- The second ball drawn is allocated to semi-final 2 in Group 1
- The third ball drawn is allocated to semi-final 1 in Group 2
- The fourth ball drawn is allocated to semi-final 2 in Group 2

The same process applies for all four-team groups.
Continuing the draw with the three-team groups, the ball drawn is provisionally allocated to the semi-final tie of Group 9. The next ball is then drawn and its position will be determined by the coefficients of both teams drawn.
If the coefficient of the ball drawn is higher than the team provisionally allocated to the semi-final tie of Group 9, the second ball drawn is allocated to the final and the team that had been provisionally allocated is confirmed in the semi-final. If the coefficient of the ball drawn is lower than the team provisionally allocated to the semi-final, the second team drawn is allocated to the semi-final and the team that had been provisionally allocated is confirmed in the semi-final.
The same process applies to all three-team groups.
The 19 unseeded teams in Pot 2 will be drawn into away team positions of the groups in numerical order, starting with Group 1 and completing the draw with Group 11, as follows:
- The first ball drawn is allocated to semi-final 1 in Group 1
- The second ball drawn is allocated to semi-final 2 in Group 1
- The third ball drawn is allocated to semi-final 1 in Group 2
- The fourth ball drawn is allocated to semi-final 2 in Group 2

The same process applies until all four-team groups are complete.
Continuing the draw with the three-team groups, the next ball drawn is allocated to the semi-final tie of Group 9, then the next ball to Group 10, and the last ball drawn is finally allocated to the semi-final tie of Group 11.
In the league path, the teams are divided into two pots: seeded and unseeded.
The eight seeded teams in Pot 1 will be drawn into home team positions of the semi-finals of the groups in numerical order, starting with Group 1 and completing the draw with Group 4, by the same method as the champions path.
The eight unseeded teams in Pot 2 will be drawn into away team positions of the semi-finals of the groups in numerical order, starting with Group 1 and completing the draw with Group 4, by the same method as the champions path.
Based on the UEFA Executive Committee decisions valid at the time of the draw, clubs from the following nations cannot be drawn into the same group: Kosovo / Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo / Serbia, Ukraine / Belarus.
The following draw condition applies: If a prohibited clash occurs or could occur, the team drawn is placed in the same position of the first available group in numerical order. Should prohibited clashes be possible when drawing the last groups, the teams will be drawn and will be assigned to the groups.

I know weird they did last year. The draw procedure is stupid though don't you think?

I don't like that the two highest seeded teams can be drawn in the same path since seeding is only for the semis.

Also instead of having 8 paths of 4 and 3 of 3 they could have 10 paths of 4 and move one team (champions of Denmark based on country ranking) to Round 2

I have a question.
There are only 41 teams on the Champions Path. Does that mean we will have three mini-tournaments with only three teams?

Not just that...
For a starters the 3 teams that get a bye to the final should be the 3 highest ranked overall not just into that group. The 2 lowest ranked seeds could get drawn into a group with seed 21 getting a bye to the final while seed 1 has to play the semi-final. Totally unfair.

In the old system (where groups would be played as a round robin - it's beyond me why they changed it) teams were seeded into 4 pots, why can't they do that here? Sk. Poltron and Glasgow City can play each other in Round 1 but can't if they both make R2!

Yes. In the 3 team groups highest seed qualifies to final and other 2 play SF, but it's not necessarily the highest seed overall!
