So its not looking good for the summer as of now it seems.Juliusz wrote: ↑Sun May 05, 2024 20:29I can speak for myself, but is there any other option? The positions in the standings are not the most worrying. All top teams look dreadful, they not only lose, but also play much worse than teams being at the bottom... For instance, it was not by chance that Lech lost to Puszcza or Ruch. They were lucky to win vs ŁKS and I'm serious here. Similar things can be said about Legia, Raków, Pogoń, but also Śląsk, Górnik and Jagiellonia. We had some crazy seasons here, but this is beyond imagination.
Polish Football Season 2023/24
Judging by the present time it isn't, but I can't predict what happens in two or three months. Many clubs will carry out a lot of changes because of two contradictory reasons - after either a successful or unsuccessful season.Bulgarian wrote: ↑Sun May 05, 2024 20:38So its not looking good for the summer as of now it seems.Juliusz wrote: ↑Sun May 05, 2024 20:29I can speak for myself, but is there any other option? Anyway, none of our teams is trustworthy now and I feel like we stepped some years back.
I think Lech will be top 3 with Slask and Jagellonia, but Gornik is still in it for the ultimate minnow top 3 + WislaFirnen wrote: ↑Sat Apr 20, 2024 00:16 It would be the most Poland thing to end up with Jagellonia, Slask, Gornik and Pogon (or even 2nd division Wisla) in Europe and inevitably stop their rise in the ranking because all the teams would be unseeded everywhere, and pay for how competitive their league is.
Jagiellonia with a very good schedule.
Recent results proved that "a very good schedule" might be a tricky term. We will see.
Śląsk, despite being the only winner from the top this week, are really, really poor. They rely mainly on Erik Exposito and his individual skills. What is more scary, he already made a decision to leave the club after the end of this season. So this poor Śląsk will be even poorer in case they qualify for Europe.
2nd division Wisła winning the Polish Cup is a quite nice story, but also some sign of weakness of this league.
I agree with @Juliusz - "Anyway, none of our teams is trustworthy now and I feel like we stepped some years back."

'Good schedule' doesn't exist here.
'Good schedule' Lech vs Puszcza, ŁKS and Ruch - lucky 3 points.
'Good schedule' Raków vs Puszcza, Korona, ŁKS and Ruch - 6 points.
'Good schedule' Legia vs Ruch, Puszcza and Korona - 5 points.
'Bad schedule' Cracovia vs Jagiellonia, Lech, Górnik - 7 points.
'Bad schedule' Ruch vs Pogoń, Widzew, Śląsk, Lech - 6 points.
'Bad schedule' Puszcza vs Raków, Śląsk, Radomiak, Ruch, Lech - 7 points and no defeat.
'Good schedule' Jagiellonia until the end of the season: Korona (home), Piast (away), Warta (home).
Korona and Warta have still something to play for. Maybe Warta will be safe on last matchday, but now it looks like the next match vs Korona will be extremely tough for Jagiellonia. But I wouldn't bet on them vs Piast or Warta either.

If Lech will have a chance to overtake Jagiellonia on the last MD, Warta will also fight like lions vs Jagiellonia, even in case of being safe.
Nope, it is exactly the opposite. They are like two brothers with Lech being older brother and Warta a kid brother. Warta in Ekstraklasa is a delivery of free points for Lech.
Since Warta has returned to Ekstraklasa, both clubs played 8 times.

I've really had enough of this season. Teams from the bottom deserve their credit for beating favourites and being better than them on the pitch. But I really suffer watching Lech, Legia or Raków... Pogoń managed to overcome Puszcza in an atmosphere of a funeral after the cup final. The only other team from the top to win was Śląsk, who were behind against relegated ŁKS anyway...
So the only thing decided mathematically is relegation of ŁKS itself. Also the only team that has mathematically nothing to play for is Widzew. Stal and Zagłębie could be relegated, but realistically should be safe.
Next week, Raków face Pogoń and Lech host Legia. It's not difficult to predict two dull draws there. At least we know that a minimum of two teams from top 7 will collect some points...
A report from I liga. Lechia is one point away from coming back to Ekstraklasa after just one year. Meanwhile, Wisła Kraków drew to last placed and relegated since weeks Zagłębie Sosnowiec... Wisła won the point in 90th minute and had a penalty in the added time, which was sent way over the bar. Currently they are on the last play-off place and will face Lechia next week.

They won the title with a record of W:24-D:7-L:1 and a 14-point advantage over 2nd placed Legia.
In the following season in Europe they were eliminated by Barcelona in the CLQ and Tottenham in the UEFA Cup Round 1.
Despite having such an impressive record in the Ekstraklasa, it was not the strongest Wisła in this century. Wisła had their best team at the beginning of this century, coached by Henryk Kasperczak, with Żurawski, Frankowski, Szymkowiak, Głowacki, Sobolewski, Kosowski, Uche and so on. They managed to eliminate teams like Schalke, Parma or Real Saragossa in that period, but their real potential was never fully used in Europe for some reason.

I wish it was possible to use a wildcard, exclude a nation from next year from eu cups and freeze coefficent for one year..
This will be a disaster. 2nd tier club + Out of Legia/Lech/Rakow is likely max 1 to qualify (or maybe 0) and even if so, they are all total disaster at the moment.
Jagiellonia and Slask will lose important players and focus on avoiding relegation next year. Erasmus Wisla will probably lose 4 matches. Very very bad...
