You can legitimately make the argument that Bellingham is the best player in the World. At 20.

While The Drop is not completely known after Sunday's games in Jornada 11, The Top is complete

1. Real Madrid--------------28 points; +23-8 Next hosts Rayo.
2. Girona------------------28 points; +25-13 At Osasuna.
3. Atlétio------------------25 points; +25-9 At Las Palmas; has a game in hand.
4. Barça-------------------24 points; +23-12 At Real Sociedad.
----------------------------------------
5. Real Soc.---------------19 points; +20-14 Hosts Barça.
6. Athletic----------------18 points; +18-12 At Villarreal.
----------------------------------------
7/8. Betis----------------17 points; +14-15 Hosts Mallorca.
7/8. Rayo----------------17 points; +14-15 At Real Madrid.

Notice the tie between Betis and Rayo. Betis is listed before Rayo because of alphabetizing in case there is no true tie-breaker. If something is at stake in such a case at season's end, there would be a playoff. This has NEVER happened, at least in First Division, although it almost did once upon a time.

Jornada 12 begins

Fri. 3 Nov. 2100 Las Palmas 2, Atlético 1 The Canaries are #10; Atleti is now in third place, with a game in hand. A win would lift Atleti into first place, although Girona and/or Real Madrid could pass Atleti in the next two days . . . Scoreless first half in the Estadio Gran Canaria. Las Palmas is playing Atleti very tough. Can Atleti break through in the second half :?: 30,080 on hand. At 51', Kirian Rodríguez scores to give Las Palmas the lead--1-0. Long way to go, but IF Las Palmas can win this one, they'll climb to ninth place, and should they win by two goals, they'd climb to seventh place. And now Las Palmas leads by two, as Munir assists Benito Ramírez, who scores--2-0. :fingal: Katy bar the door--at 83', Riquelme assists Morata, who cuts the margin to one goal--2-1. At 90', the Canaries' goalie saves the furniture. And Las Palmas holds on through 98' to beat Atleti for the first time in the Liga in Gran Canaria since 1987.

Sat. 4 Nov.

1400 Osasuna 2, Girona 4 Osasuna is in mid-table. Girona is second to Real Madrid only on GD, so a win will take them to the top. At 16', Iván Martín finishes off a three-man break--0-1. At 25', Budimir puts in a rebound to tie it--1-1. Halftime in El Sadar. 20,100 on hand. At 55', Budimir heads in--2-1. Can Girona get back into the game :?: At 71', Dovbyk ties it for Girona with a header--2-2. And at 80', Tsygankov scores to give Girona the lead--2-3. And at 90', Aleix García makes it 2-4. That's the final, and Girona leads LaLiga, at least until Real Madrid plays tomorrow.

1615 Betis 2, Mallorca 0 Betis is tied for 7/8 with Rayo. Mallorca is #16, three points above the drop. At 7', Willian José gives Betis the lead--1-0. At 45', Mascarell of Mallorca sees a second yellow. Bad call by the ref. And it's 1-0 at the half. At 65', Ayoze Pérez scores from the center of the area--2-0. And that's the final score.

1830 Celta 1, Sevilla 1 Celta is the top of the drop. Sevilla, with a game in hand, is 14th, four points above the drop. At 22', Starfelt of Celta heads in a free kick--1-0. And that's the score at halftime. Celta would still be in the drop on GD if they win this game by the minimum. 19,023 on hand in Balaídos. At 65', Tapia of Celta sees a second yellow. At 84', En-Nesyri kicks in a loose ball to tie it--1-1. At the stroke of 96', review for possible penalty in favor of Celta, which finally is NOT given; the game ends in a tie.

2100 Real Sociedad 0, Barça 1 Full time. La Real is fifth, five points back of fourth-place Barça. Not a whole lot of good scoring chances in the first half. At 93', Araújo heads in to give Barça the win--0-11 the final; Barça will be in third place when the jornada ends. La Real may drop lower than fifth place, depending on tomorrow's games.

Sun. 5 Nov.

1400 Alavés 1, Almería 0 Alavés is one place and three points above the drop. Almería, yet to win in LaLiga this season, is six points back of Alavés. Scoreless first half. Hagi of Alavés missed a pk--badly--at 45'+1'. 16,380 on hand. At 79', Sedlar puts in a loose ball to give Alavés the lead--1-0. Alavés holds on for a big win in their quest to avoid the drop. As they say, Almería can't win for losin' :!:

1615 Valencia 1, Granada 0 Valencia is ninth with 15 points; Granada is next-to-last with six points. At 45'+5', penalty ( :?: ) awarded to Valencia for a questionable foul. Pepelu converts at 45'+7'--1-0 at the half. 44,922 on hand. Valencia holds on to win and climb, for the moment, to 8th place.

1830 Villarreal 2, Athletic 3 The Yellow Submarine is 12th with 12 points, six points back of sixth-place Athletic. At 2', Ruiz de Galarreta gives Athletic the lead--0-1. And at 22', Nico Williams makes it 0-2 from in close. A win here would lift Athletic to fifth place. Nico scores and eight minutes later Iñaki scores from just outside the area--0-3.   At 45', Sorloth puts one in, but he's offside. Viillarreal is playing a nightmare game . . . Blessed be halftime . . . :!: Well, NEVER say "die!" At 86', Gerard Moreno cuts the gap to 1-3, and at 87', Sorloth makes it 2-3 . . . but that's how it ends--2-3 and Athletic a winner.

2100 Real Madrid 0, Rayo 0 FULL TIME :exclamation: :exclamation: El Real leads LaLiga, but only on GD vs Girona. El Rayo is tied for 7/8 with Betis. As long as they win, el Real will again top the league on GD over Girona. Still 0-0 at the half. Bellingham was hurt early, but was OK to continue. Rayo was able to hang in there for the first half--could they possibly hang in there for the second half :?: Yes, they could and did. Real is now second; Rayo is ninth :!: :!: :applause: :applause: :applause:

Mon. 6 Nov. 2100 Getafe 1, Cádiz 0 Geta is in lower mid-table with 12 points; Cádiz is two points and two places back of Getafe. Scoreless after a lackluster first half. Djene of Getafe sees a second yellow at 44' . . . 0-0. 9,853 on hand. At 76', Borja Mayoral, unmarked in front of the goal, gives Getafe the lead--1-0. At 85', Ledesma of Cádiz makes a GREAT save :!: . . . still 1-0. And 1-0 at the final whistle. Getafe is now #11 in LaLiga.

He isn't the best in the world, Haaland, mbappe, Messi and even the current Ronaldo are better. I'm also sure if Bale put his boots on he's better. There's no doubt he's on his way to potentially becoming one of the best but he's not close yet.

At 19', Willian José puts in a loose ball to give Betis the lead--1-0. Halftime. Betis can't score any more, but their defense holds on to win it.

Mon. 27 Nov. 2100 Arguably Game of the Week, as #1 Girona hosts #5 Athletic. Can Girona keep it up and stay atop LaLiga :?: Athletic is 10 points adrift of the pacesetters . . .
