I wouldn't be surprised if they allowed a replay considering they already half teams points near the end of the season. It's not about who's the best it's about how to pretend your leagues exciting

While I openly admit that the system is not perfect in Belgium, at least there isn't a duopoly that has seen the same two teams win the league for the past 3 decades plus. Even without the halving of points, the league is already more than exciting as is.

That aside, it'd be a travesty if the Mechelen - Club Brugge was to be replayed. Should not be allowed at all. Of course we heard about Jürgen Klopp suggesting that in the Premier League earlier this campaign, but it's ridiculous that Club even suggested it

You still have 2 dominant clubs (Anderlecht and Club Brugge have won 28 titles since Scotland last had a different winner) with the odd pretender winning it now and again, however last season's champion wasn't really the champion as they benefited from a nonsense points halving rule. I wonder how many others have benefited from it since it was introduced?

Actually last season in Belgium all three Antwerp, USG and Genk got 83 points over 40 games

Well about the duopoly here we had a monopoly with a single club winning 19 out of 21 with one winning the other 2. They had a total of 23 straight between them.

The city monopoly is even worse with 80 league titles going to the capital region, 6 in another city and just 1 in the rest of the country. One could argue that our capital is home to almost "50% of the country's population" but the dominance was evident even before the 70s when a much smaller portion lived there.

The biggest issue is that everyone supports just 4/5 clubs and none (with exceptions in certain citys) really supports their local team.
