Another clue this week that FIFA will seed the UEFA WCQ draw based on UNL ranking came from this page:

Thirty-three national teams have earned at least one promotion, which highlights how they are able to generate momentum via the competition. As well as climbing the Nations League ladder, they improve their chances of a more favourable draw in the European Qualifiers, so creating a virtuous circle.

Yes. European Qualifiers! Not WCQ!

European Qualifiers is the branding for all UEFA qualifiers whether they lead to the EURO or the WC.

I'll be annoyed if they do UNL as we will be in Pot 2, could draw France, end up 2nd and get KO in an away PO on pens or something.

If UEFA brands it as European Qualifiers they should not allow non-European teams to participate

not all UEFA teams are European (Israel, Kazakhstan, Armenia) and others only partly (Spain, Greece, Italy, Turkey, Russia, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Iceland, Portugal (?)).
Also Malta (on the African plate) and Cyprus (Asia) are technically not European.

Spain, Greece, Portugal and Italy are mainly in Europe though
Russia is mainly in Asia but the main part is in Europe
Turkey, Georgia and Azerbaijan are mainly in Asia

Also Denmark, Netherlands, France and UK have territories on other continents, but those territories generally have their own football teams

I have 2 questions:

1) are you trolling?

2) What part of Spain and Portugal aren't in Europe?

I am not trolling. Just saying UEFA shouldn't call it European qualifiers but UEFA qualifiers

for Portugal, Madeira and part of Azores
for Spain, Canary Islands, and also Ceuta and Melilla

This is to do with branding though, not geography. Just like they call their NT competitions UEFA EUROs (for European Championships).

Asking for a friend… 🤔

What does the “E” in UEFA stands for? 🙄

European
I was hopeful that my sarcasm would be clear.

I was trying to show to @Witkop1983 that by using his recommendation of “UEFA qualifiers” the use of “European” which he objects to is not eliminated.

If Scotland, Serbia, Bosnia and Hercegovina or Israel will join quarterfinals in Nations League this(these) nation(s) will be higher ranked than FIFA ranking would say?

No, they'll go to pot 2.

If it is based on nations league positions then if they any of them are in the top 3 in their nations league group then they will be a top seed, so ignore any idiots who say otherwise
