So Ajax and Betis are new possible opponents for Eintracht. Against Betis they've played in their fabulous EL winning season. Sturm Graz also possible, Austrians are always 10000% motivated against Germans, but after their group stage performance I don't think they are able to shock big league teams in KO stage games. I expect better games from Eintracht in the KO stage and with at least one new striker.
Back to EL, Rangers are always able to surprise in this competition. Congrats.
The three French teams against CL teams, will one of them get Milan?

Especially this season's group, it went both ways with their Aris results. Beat Betis twice, only got 1pt from Aris.BurningStorm wrote: ↑Thu Dec 14, 2023 23:03 So Ajax and Betis are new possible opponents for Eintracht. First time that they overwinter in over two decades! They should celebrate! Hopefully they won't have to wait another two decades for it to happen again.BurningStorm wrote: ↑Thu Dec 14, 2023 22:52 Some Sturm Graz players celebrating after the final whistle

Most Royale Union SG - Liverpool 2-1
• Liverpool had 1st place ensured before match, but I do not expect its losing.
Real Betis - Rangers 2-3
• Ranger had to turn the game around twice. In the end, Betis will had to only settle for the Conference League. By the way, the final ranking 1. Rangers > 2. Sparta Prague > 3. Real Betis > 4. Aris Limassol was not predicted by any discussant in the Group Topic.
Panathinaikos - Maccabi Haifa 1-2
• A home draw was enough for Panathinaikos. The loss is quite a shock. An unpleasant way out for the Greeks. After the 4th round, it looked like all four clubs would meet in the Conference League, but in the end there were only two left. Even Ajax finally won promotion over AEK Athens (although they are not doing well in the Dutch League).

And Lens could get AS Roma.BurningStorm wrote: ↑Thu Dec 14, 2023 23:03 The three French teams against CL teams, will one of them get Milan?
4 out of the 6 french teams are in the EL knock-out rounds.
After a crappy day for me, at least I saw some nice results in the EL (and ECL)
I didn't think that there would be much excitement on this day, but there was!
I really liked Rangers win. I don't know why I like them, but I do.
Maybe because I still see the Scottish teams as ones that keeps running and playing all the time, even after the players fall, they get up and don't do immitations of being hurt, unlike Spanish teams for example.

We've got no idea, either.Firnen wrote: ↑Thu Dec 14, 2023 22:58 Rangers with the shock of the night, they beat Betis away and send them down to the Conference League.
I never understood how Rangers is performing so much better than Celtic in Europe usually, while domestically they're on the backfoot and it's Celtic dominating.
To consistently perform against better teams but make a rip roaring mess of domestic league games against weaker teams is confusing.
It's not just better players or mentality alone. Something needs fixed by a manager to get us winning domestic trophies regularly.

Yes, i read that in the news. Some strange rule that i wasnt familiar before. But thank you for also explaining .Witkop1983 wrote: ↑Thu Dec 14, 2023 21:08No offside... But the taker of the free kicked touched the ball twice (once by taking the free kick, 2nd time when it came back off the crossbar... No one else had touched it)
Toulouse and AC Milan have the same owner so i think UEFA gonna try to separate those two in the draw?BurningStorm wrote: ↑Thu Dec 14, 2023 23:03 So Ajax and Betis are new possible opponents for Eintracht. That is correct and let's stick with it. Raków fully deserved to be out after such a disgraceful performance on MD6. There is no place in the European Cups in Spring for such an immature team who can't even prepare correct tactic for a match according to the standings in the group and a result they need. I am pretty sure that with Papszun on the bench it would have never happened and his decision to divorce with Raków was harmful for both sides since he can't find any job abroad since then. It was an understandable decision, he was looking for a new challenge, but he was not aware that Polish coaches have 0 reputation in Europe. At the end both Papszun and Raków lost.

I think the difference is Celtic are poor when asked to defend but are better attacking (they don’t have to defend in Scotland) while Rangers have a solid defensive structure in Europe the last few years but perhaps lack the attacking prowess to turn some games from 1 point into 3 which leads to Celtic eventually winning the league
Not strange, this rule is the same for:Sillu1991 wrote: ↑Fri Dec 15, 2023 00:28Yes, i read that in the news. Some strange rule that i wasnt familiar before. -PK (a special kind of free kick)
-Throw-ins
-Goal kick
-Corner
-Kick-off
The only (re)start of the play without this rule is a dropped ball (for obvious reasons) and you cannot score until somebody else has touched the ball.
