Would be 2nd season in a row that the previous season's final would happen in last 16 following season!

Current ELO rating of the teams involved in this round:

Manchester City 2045
Real Madrid 1962
Bayern 1956
Arsenal 1934
Atletico Madrid 1887
Barcelona 1861
Borussia Dortmund 1852
Real Sociedad 1837

Inter 1930
PSG 1874
RB Leipzig 1847
Napoli 1844
Porto 1816
PSV 1810
Lazio 1757
Kobenhavn 1648

From this perspective the draw is not so scary for Inter.

true but still only 3 chances out 7 to go through assuming the best ELO-rating wins, i.e. less than Real Sociedad 4/7 the lowest ELO-rating of the seeded teams.

7/7 Man City
7/7 Real Madrid
6/6 Bayern
7/7 Arsenal
6/7 Atletico
5/6 Dortmund
5/7 Barcelona
4/7 Real Sociedad

3/7 Inter
2/7 PSG
1/6 Leipzig
1/7 Napoli
0/7 Porto
0/7 PSV
0/7 Lazio
0/7 Kobenhavn

Group winners
A: Bayern (GER)

C: Real Madrid (ESP)
D: Real Sociedad (ESP)
E: Atlético de Madrid (ESP)
F: Dortmund (GER)
G: Manchester City (ENG)
H: Barcelona (ESP)

Group runners-up
A: Copenhagen (DEN)
B: PSV Eindhoven (NED)
C: Napoli (ITA)
D: Inter (ITA)
E: Lazio (ITA)
F: Paris (FRA)
G: Leipzig (GER)
H: Porto (POR)
My order for the three Bundesliga teams

Dortmund:

Copenhagen
Lazio
PSV
Porto
Napoli
Inter

One of the first four teams would be good. Needless to say that a "90% performance" wouldn't be enough for any of the teams. But so far they did a great job in the CL (not in the Bundesliga).

Bayern:

Lazio
PSV
Porto
Napoli
Inter
PSG

A year ago they got PSG, also as group winner. While the runner-up in their group, Inter, got Porto from pot 1. Lets see if Bayern have more luck than the runner-up this time (Copenhagen).

Leipzig:

Real Sociedad/Barca
Atletico
Arsenal
Real

It should be a Spanish team. No easy opponent possible. I guess as long as it's not Real, they can't complain. The other teams are all (very) good, but Real is above them in CL ko games.

The 2023/24 UEFA Champions League round of 16 draw takes place on Monday 18 December at 12:00 CET.

The 2023/24 UEFA Champions League round of 16 draw will be held at 12:00 CET on Monday 18 December at the House of European Football in Nyon, Switzerland.

Conditions of the draw

The draw respects the following principles, in accordance with Paragraphs 13.07 and 18.01 of the 2023/24 UEFA Champions League Regulations:

• The group winners are seeded above the runners-up.

• Clubs from the same association cannot be drawn against each other.

• Group winners must be drawn against runners-up from a different group.

• The runners-up play the first leg at home.

Group winners (seeded)
FC Bayern München (GER)
Arsenal FC (ENG)
Real Madrid CF (ESP)
Real Sociedad de Fútbol (ESP)
Club Atlético de Madrid (ESP)
Borussia Dortmund (GER)
Manchester City (ENG)
FC Barcelona (ESP)

Group runners-up (unseeded)
F.C. Copenhagen (DEN)
PSV Eindhoven (NED)
SSC Napoli (ITA)
FC Internazionale Milano (ITA)
S.S. Lazio (ITA)
Paris Saint-Germain (FRA)
RB Leipzig (GER)
FC Porto (POR)

Draw procedure: https://editorial.uefa.com/resources/02 ... cedure.pdf

Eight balls containing the names of the group runners-up are placed in a bowl.

A first ball is drawn from the bowl. The team drawn is placed as the home team in match 1.

In accordance with the above draw conditions, the computer then shows which group winners are eligible to play as the visiting team in match 1. These teams' names are placed in a bowl.

A ball is drawn from that bowl to complete the pairing for match 1 with the team drawn placed as the visiting team in this match.

The above procedure is repeated for the remaining matches.

If the computer indicates that only one group winner is eligible to play as the visiting team in a match, that team is automatically assigned to the match and no ball is drawn.

Additional information

In accordance with Paragraph 21.01(b) of the competition regulations, the UEFA administration decides which matches are played on Tuesday, which on Wednesday, and in which weeks.

The results of the draw and the full fixture list will be available after the draw ceremony, at 18:00 CET at the latest.

DISGUSTING draw.

Both oil clubs get the easiest possible they could: Sociedad and Copenhagen.

The urge to vomit is really strong right now.

Bayern - Lazio
Dortmund - PSV
Leipzig - Real Madrid

Good draw for the first two, Leipzig got the hardest possible. PSV is a good, but tricky draw, they are really good at home.

Pep - Copenhagen, I knew it.
