If you're talking on TV then it has to be the 2022 World Cup final.

As for the worst I've seen some bad games in my time hard to put a finger on it but probably a scrappy 0-0, I'd probably say Rotherham v Wycombe 2021 - I nearly fell to sleep in the stadium 🤣!

Italy - West Germany 4:3 aet at the 1970 WC semifinal in Mexico.
Portugal - Croatia, don't remember exactly, maybe 5-10 years ago, 0:0(?)

My dad wasn't even born for that game to put it into context!
They had 0-1 at Euro 2016 and 1-1 in UNL 18-19. Which was it?

I don't know without checking it, but it was a disgusting game, probably the 1:1. Also the West Germany - Austria game from 1982 in Gijon.

The disgrace of Gijon!

Portugal-Croatia was 1-0 but only in overtime. It was a weak game but don't get why it gets to top of worst games ever.

As worst I could say The Battle of Nuremberg (google it) in 2006 WC. That was nasty.
For boring matches one Chelsea Atletico in CL SF 2012/13 where Chelsea just parked the bus.
I think Milan-Inter in UCL SF 2002/03 was also boring.

Euro 2004 final. Losing against Greece at home soil once is one thing, losing twice in same way at same tournament its just stupid. Hardest defeat to swallow.

Best match ever: Europa League 2010/11 semi finals 2nd leg SC Braga 1-0 benfica
Never a win was so tasteful!

Other matches I can recall: portuguese league 2013/14 Porto Benfica with 1 match to play. After defending for 90' benfica was champion. In injury time a player looked like a parrot or macaw, scores for porto, and they would become champions. In one week benfica lost championship, europa league final and cup final.

UEFA cup final 2001 between Alaves and Liverpool, 5-4 overtime

Valencia in 2000-200e played great (under Hector Cúper), Bayer Leverkusen in 2002 had also a great team and great football (Lucio, Ballack, Basturk). In this period Galácticos won twice Bayern once.

I'll answer according to emotional satisfaction/damage I experienced personally at the stadium:

Best matches:
2007/08 UCL qualification: Slavia Praha - Ajax 2-1 (3-1 on aggregate)
2018/19 UEL R16: Slavia Praha - Sevilla 4-3 a.e.t (6-5 on aggregate)

Worst match:
2009/10 UCL qualification: Slavia Praha - Sheriff Tiraspol 1-1 (1-1 on aggregate, Sheriff advances on away goals rule)
SK Slavia Praha fan

No question, Italy - West Germany 4:3 AET in 1970 WC is the best game ever for a neutral observer. West Germany - France 3:3 AET (5:4 PKSO) is probably second.

Worst game I’ll go with Ukraine - Switzerland 0:0 AET (3:0 PKSO) R16 in WC 2006.

Most boring West Germany - Austria 1:0 in WC 1982.

On TV, not in person. Been to most WCs since 1986.
