Jorge Sampaoli (Marseille) leaves the club.
He complains about the lack of ambition of the club, understand he wanted a much more ambitious recruitment.

The Chairman of the club, Pedro Longoria, said the new coach should be named soon. As per French media, the favorite to take the position is Igor Tudor (Verona).

To be fair to Sampaoli, as disastrous as his campaign with Argentina was, he did very well to finish 2nd with Marseille last season. If he wanted particular players and Marseille refused, they may have shot themselves in the foot with him leaving.

my understanding is that the disagreement was not about the choice of the players to be signed, but much more about the whole budget dedicated for recruitment. Marseille has been in difficult financial situation for a couple of years and has to be cautious and I presume hat Sampaoli was perfectly aware of that situation but he kept on insisting that to play the Champions League they needed to sign better players. I read that he would have requested Griezmann, but signing a player like Griezmann is simply just impossible for a club like Marseille.
By the way Sampaoli has never stayed long in his previous clubs.

OM fans may confirm or not, but my feeling is that if Sampaoli was appreciated in Marseille, fans will quickly move on.

By the way, Igor Tudor (ex-Verona) seems to be confirmed to take the position for next season.

you can't stretch to the limit financially just for short tem success and even this with high risk. Every organisation or club can only exist in the long term if sustainability comes before short-term views unless you have unlimited resources.
Marseille already signed players for about 45 mio.

Sampaoli's Marseille had 50M€ for reinforcements in 2021/2022, and they still couldn't progress from an EL group with Galatasaray, Lazio and Lokomotiv Moscow, and then were eliminated in the Conference League semis by Feyenoord.

If with 50M€ for signings they still couldn't prevail against Galatasaray, Lazio or Feyenoord, it's "likely" that to play Champions League against stronger opposition Sampaoli probably wanted 100-150M€ for reinforcements.

Note that Marseille in the CL lost 14 of the last 15 matches that they played. Perhaps it won't be significantly different in 2022/2023, and Sampaoli just abandoned a sinking ship.

absolutely, Sampaoli is a dreamer he should move to a club where financials don't play a significant role.

Actually four of these players - Pau López (12M€), Guendouzi (11M€), Cengiz Under (8.4M€) and Milik (8M€) - are players that they already had on loan and now they're keeping them, so they shouldn't represent any "improvement".

De Zerbi left Shakhtar.

It looks more and more likely that Shakhtar will be the weakest CL team of the 32 this year.

Marco Rose is Leipzig's new coach. He did a very bad job in Dortmund, at least in the three cup competitions. Despite having Haaland. However, in Gladbach and Salzburg he was more than decent. And he was born in Leipzig, so somehow a quite logical choice, even though I'm not a fan of him.

French José Anigo is the new coach of Olympiakos FC. He had hundreds of apps for OM during 1979-87. This is the third coach change for Oly during the last 8 months after Pedro Martins, Carlos Corberán and Michel.

Karel Geraerts (former USG coach with a nice EL run) to Schalke. After their relegation they are currently only 16th in the 2. Bundesliga.
