Re: Ice Hockey
An encouraging end as we win the third period. 4-2 FT, much closer than I think most would have expected. :applause: Didn't realise this was today, would have liked to have caught some of it. When the difference between the teams is a pair of goals from teenage phenomenon Connor Bedard, it is a cre...

Re: English Football 2023/24
Phil Foden and Kadija Shaw win the FWA Player of the Year awards. On the article where I read the news, the first comment decried Foden's win, saying he was overhyped because he was English. There have been occasions where I might have agreed, like when Scott Parker won, but not this one. With Salah...

Re: English Football 2023/24
I understand these debates, since it was something that went on when I was a kid. My first introduction to the idea that there were different ways to play football were the debates when Peter Reid was City manager. He guided the club to back to back top 6 finishes, but the football was dogshit. Long...

Re: English Football 2023/24
Liverpool would now need two slip ups in four games from Arsenal, and two in five from City. The bookmakers offer 33/1 but I'd make it 100.
Arsenal's goal difference puts things on a knife edge. Barring an 8 goal swing in four fixtures, even a draw for City would put Arsenal back in the driving seat.

Re: English Football 2023/24
Only found out from reading this that it went to penalties, was 3-0 last I looked!
Only the second time that the finalists have repeated, and the previous time was 1884 and 1885 (Blackburn Rovers and Queen's Park).

Walker starting. Hope he's fully fit.
City have scored three goals in all nine matches in the competition so far. Extending this crazy streak to ten would be most welcome.

Re: English Football 2023/24
League leaders Stockport can probably feel aggrieved at all the attention Wrexham get. Stockport were also promoted on Saturday, and will secure the title ahead of Wrexham if they win one of their remaining three games.

Re: English Football 2023/24
Never in a million years expected City to be top this evening. Between the FA Cup and the TV schedule, both Arsenal and Liverpool play twice before City's next league game, which is a chance for them to exert some pressure.

Re: 2023/24 Champions League quarter-finals, semi-finals and final
City controlled long spells of the game, but every time that slipped by a millimetre, Real looked like scoring. Any result could have happened. While its disappointing to let a lead slip in the last 10, you take a draw with the home leg still to come.

Haaland picked up a knock but confirmed he was OK straight after the. There has been nothing to suggest Dias or Bernardo have been injured. Their international teammate Nunes got injured. Akanji missed the second Switzerland game, but is back in training. Ederson, Grealish and De Bruyne were already...

Re: Friendlies
Bookmakers make odds, not necessarily because of who they think will win, but because of who they think people will bet on. And it is likely that they are more bettors who will put money on San Marino instead of St Kitts and Nevis. Why? Why would the general public favour a team that loses all the ...
