Re: German Football 2022/23

The crux is that there ar more than just DFL and both clubs (Hoffenheim allegedly have been very cooperative) but also local authorities, stadium operators, security services (including police) and "countless other services" with a say, according to Köln's Sports CEO Christian Keller. He ...

Re: German Football 2022/23

No rescheduling for Köln's game on Sunday. That's because DFL requires an exact date that all involved parties agree on if the time between two matches for one of the teams is above the threshold of 48 hours. The crux is that there ar more than just DFL and both clubs (Hoffenheim allegedly have bee...

Re: German Football 2022/23

Regarding Köln's match in Moravia resuming on Friday 13:00 CEST, it will be only slightly above the minimum of 48 hours untill their BL match hosting Hoffenheim is set to kick off. I hope DFL will manage to reschedule that match as well, providing the Köln players a more reasonable ammount of rest -...

Re: ECL matchday 4

Last time Cologne played in Europe, they got relegated from the Bundesliga. So maybe now they are cautios not to put too much in ECL and got themselves in trouble domestically. In the season you mentioned (2017-18), Cologne spent 33 of 34 matchdays in relegation zone (30 of those rock bottom) and t...

Re: Friendlies

With the 2024 Euro qualifiers groups and schedules known, let's look at possible opponents for the German NT. I'd like to see only 4- 6 European opponents - leaving room to visit other continents and/or inviting teams from around the world for the remainig 2-3 windows. Korgutt Thanks for the overvie...

Re: UEFA Nations League 2022/23

Adding all CONMEBOL teams and the 2026 WC host to the NL in 2024, I would do it like this: NL A - 32 teams - 8 groups of 4 - 6 matches group winners advance to Final Eight in June, bottom teams enter play-out brackets* Pot 1: CRO, ITA, ESP, NED (1st A) + BRA, ARG, MEX, URU (top4 American sides by FI...

Re: UEFA Nations League 2022/23

As for 2024/25, I also expect UEFA will invite guest teams, since this has been discussed in the media for a while. They can add the South American teams and/or the 3 North American World Cup hosts. Even if South America keeps the 18-match qualifying format, they can possibly still squeeze the UNL ...

Re: UEFA Nations League 2022/23

At the end, you stick to watch these unesessary matches without any relevance and even comment on them. Because I would have watched it also if it was a friendly. It was against England, at Wembley, of course I watch this if there is nothing else, regardless of the competition. What an incredible s...

Re: UEFA Nations League 2022/23

Avoid making conclusions from few individuals' words. Fatal error. The two loudest active German members hardly represent the majority - let alone the whole - German football fans. Three (ultra, greenbay and me) :D Do you know many fans who are excited about this? It's not much different than frien...

Re: 2022/2023 Conference League Group D: Partizan - Köln - Nice - Slovácko

As for the ban to sell tickets to the match at Slovacko - Since the prices for the bundle of tickets for all three home matches of Slovacko were very low and Slovacko does not have that much season ticket holders who had early access to those bundles, it is estimated that around 600 of these bundle...

Re: Nations League

What if one CONMEBOL team is relegated and there are 5 teams in League A? Odd numbers of CONMEBOL members numbers in a league are no problem with groups of 3. That format could even handle 9 or all South American teams in NL A. However, it would get rather complicated with groups of 4. Here are som...

Re: Nations League

Honestly, I don't get why it should not be managable for the UEFA top level NTs to make a trip to South America over a complete FIFA window (10 days) for two matches. Though, it would require even numbers of CONMEBOL teams in each group - two or none - but just be for one of the current five windows...

Sepsi OSK just won the Cupa României final aganist Voluntari (2-1 FT) and qualified for ECL-Q2.
As winners of the play-out group, they were set to host runners-up Botoşani in the European play-off semi-final but now Botoşani directly advance to the final at Craiova.
