Re: Euro 2020
Did anyone else think that for some reason Belgium went full tryhard mode against Finland? Did they have a beef with them and wanted to knock them out? Denmark deserved to advance way more than Russia, Russia is horrible. Sad for Finland, I wanted them to make it, now it is nearly impossible - and ...

Re: Euro 2020
If Denmark wins, Wales cannot meet Russia, right? And there are only a small set of results that place Finland second if they lose and Denmark wins I think that's right yeah. In the case Denmark win the scenarios for second are: Finland win - Belgium 2nd (6-6-3-3) Finland draw - Finland 2nd (7-4-3-...

Re: European Super League
No, I also don’t think there will be relegation/promotion. Just a steady 15 clubs with 5 invites was the idea. Generating a lot of money. Relegation means losing that money. That was the reason they started this, so I don’t count on that. And this way they are also protecting themselves against fut...

Re: 2022 WC Qatar - European qualifiers
What do forum members think about Wales vs Czechia on Tuesday? Czechia looked pretty good against Belgium, so it's going to be a tough one for us. We've got a playoff place already from the nations league win, so a draw doesn't do us much good really. We need to win the group to benefit, so we need...

Re: Euro 2020
The UK makes sense to host it - we're already having some games in London and Glasgow, and there's plenty of other stadia already set up that could be used, Cardiff, Manchester, Liverpool, Newcastle etc. Plus we're way ahead of most countries with vaccinations at the moment, and likely to have every...

Re: New Champions League at 2024 and on
I'm not sure why they're making it so complicated. Why do we need a swiss system and weird qualification rules? Just go to 48 teams, 8 groups of 6 that play eachother twice. Top two qualify for the last 16. Reduce the qualifying rounds down to three instead of the six we've got at the moment, and t...

Re: UEFA New Access List
The problem with UEFA is that it gives to the strongest leagues to the detriment of others. If again they want to increase the number of clubs in the CL for the Top 4 Leagues, then they need to increase the number of clubs in the CL for other countries as well. Let’s say a limit of 6 clubs per leag...

Re: Euro 2020
Wales have played 45 in competitive fixtures, plus five more in friendlies for a total of 50. But we've never played Kosovo, Kazakhstan, Gibraltar or Lithuania as far as I can tell. Plus for a bonus point we also played against USSR, Czechoslovakia, East Germany, West Germany, Yugoslavia and Serbia ...

Re: 2022 WC Qatar - European qualifiers
Well, don't think we'll be challenging Belgium for first place really, looks like a straight fight with the Czechs for second place. Although if Belgium do win the group we're already guaranteed a playoff place anyway. Would normally be looking forward to the trips to Estonia & Belarus since I h...

Re: 2022 WC Qatar - European qualifiers
Belgium again! Third time in the last six qualifiers we've draw them, plus played them at Euro 2016. Yet we haven't played Spain or France in a competitive game for ages. In fact just had a quick look to see when we last played them competitively, looks like Spain was 1986 and we've never actually h...

Re: 2022 WC Qatar - European qualifiers
For Wales, an ideal group is something like: Denmark, Northern Ireland, Luxembourg, Andorra & San Marino. Denmark are still a little better than us but I fancy our chances of giving them a decent challenge unlike France/Italy/England. Iceland or Scotland from pot 3 wouldn't be too bad either.

Re: UEFA Nations League 2020/21
Really good win for Wales in Finland without a number of key players, including Ramsey. That's probably the toughest game of the group out of the way too, along with a decent result for us in Bulgaria.

Re: 1st qualifying round Europe League 2020-21
Two Welsh teams through in the same night, that’s almost unheard of, and unexpected after Barry’s disaster show last week. Fantastic win for TNS against Žilina too.

Re: 2019/20 Champions League Semi Finals
The question is not: "is it fair". But "is it rotten to the core". Simple answer: As long as hardly no team outside the top countries makes it to the KO stages, the percentage of direct spots for the top countries is even way to low. But you could equally argue that the reason n...
