As “Sportbild” reports the performances of Joshua Kimmich, Leon Goretzka, Alphonso Davies and Serge Gnabry are currently being closely examined. If these players don't present themselves from their best side then there may be a risk that they will end in the summer.
The big question is also: Who will be the future leader of the German series champions? A real leader is currently missing according to “Sportbild”. Also problematic: the careers of Manuel Neuer and Thomas Müller are coming to an end.
It has to be mentioned that Kimmich and Goretzka usually play in the same position as Konrad Laimer who Nagelsmann brought to Bayern and he will "survive" with Bayern because he got something what the other two obviously lack (Hoeneß and Schweinsteiger enthuse about him). Kimmich 2-3 years ago was one of the best midfielders in Europe and presently is a shadow from then. Gnabry rather visited a fashion exhibition in Paris during the week instead of concentrating with some extra trainings to hit the goal again. No good signs for the German NT either.

UYL:
Congratulations Copenhagen!
Best ever Copenhagen in UYL history. First time that they reach 13 points, first time that they win their group.
The 6-0 win against Galatasaray is the biggest in their UYL history, above 5-1 against Galatasaray in round 1.
Congratulations Bayern for winning in England and advancing from this group!
12 points is already their third best ever CL campaign. They never advanced from a UYL KO stage. Will they finally do it this time against Basel?
Galatasaray's 6 points here are consistent with their previous UYL participations. They had 34 points from 34 UYL matches, now they have 40 points from 40 UYL matches.
CL:
Congratulations Copenhagen!
They reached the CL last 16 for the second time in their history.
Last time they did it they were second placed with 10 points in a group with Barcelona, Rubin Kazan and Panathinaikos.
This time they were second placed with 8 points in a group with Bayern, Galatasaray and Manchester United.
So looking at results the first time was more impressive, because 10>8. However, looking at the opponents, perhaps this time is more impressive, because Galatasaray + Manchester United > Rubin Kazan + Panathinaikos.
It's the third time in the last 5 seasons that Copenhagen reaches the "last 16 stage": 2019/2020 EL, 2021/2022 Conference League and 2023/2024 CL.
Congratulations Galatasaray for getting the third place!
5 points with a -3GD is better than any of their previous four CL participations.
Now it's too late to fire Erik Fourteen Hag, the damage is already irreversible.
206.7M€ spent in new players this season. Plus 243.29M€ spent in new players last season.
And yet when you look at their starting XI plus (incomplete) subs bench against Bayern last week, you would be excused to believe that perhaps they only had 4.5M€ to spend during the last two seasons instead of 450M€!!!
That's sheer incompetence, I can't see other explanation for this.

Manchester United had its worst ever UYL participation.
I was right about Bayern second, but wrong about the rest.

Worst ever Manchester United in CL history confirmed.Dragonite wrote: ↑Fri Dec 08, 2023 10:43It's unbelievable what's happening to Manchester United here!
If they don't win their next match they'll be the worst ever Manchester United in CL history!
Why wasn't Erik Ten Hag fired yet? I'll stop calling him Erik Ten Hag, he's Erik Eleven Hag now, Eleven being the number of points that he already lost in this CL group. Will be become Erik Thirteen Hag or Erik Fourteen Hag in a few days?
Manchester United spent 52.5M€ in Onana and they ended up with the worst goalkeeper in the CL!
Now it's too late to fire Erik Fourteen Hag, the damage is already irreversible.

I got the first team right but it was easy to predict. The rest was all wrong. I did think Copenhagen would finish above Galatasaray, which they did, but didn't think they would both finish above Man United. I know the Man United of the last decade are not the Man Utd of Alex Ferguson, but you would have thought the guy who has done so well with Ajax in the CL could get them out of this not difficult looking group. He couldn't even get 3rd. It's embarrassing. Well done Copenhagen for their great achievement, for the 2nd time in their history now.
