Round 20
February 10: České Budějovice - Ostrava 3:0 (Att: 2 457)
February 10: Karviná - Sparta Praha 0:3 (Att: 4 238)
February 10: Liberec - Olomouc 2:0 (Att: 2 427)
February 10: Slovácko - Pardubice 1:2 (Att: 4 720)
February 10: Plzeň - Mladá Boleslav 1:1 (Att: 9 086)
February 11: Hradec Králové - Bohemians 2:2 (Att: 6 118)
February 11: Teplice - Zlín 2:1 (Att: 3 086)
February 11: Slavia Praha - Jablonec 4:3 (Att: 17 202)

Highlights of this round:
- What a round to start the spring season with. Sparta continues to dominate the league. They had one scare in the first half when Karviná missed a huge chance but then Krejčí scored a beautiful goal and the match was over. Karabec and Kuchta added goals in the second half.
- Slavia on the other hand scored the game winning goal in 90+7' after a corner kick. Despite going up 1-0 in 3', 2-1 in 11' and 3-2 in 24', it was still very nervous in Eden. Wallem and Jurečka scored twice, the defense looked however very weak.
- Plzeň went 1-0 up against Mladá Boleslav in the second half but wasn't able to hold on to three points and conceded from a penalty in 87'. Not a good start for Plzeň.
- Slovácko recorded an even worse start than Plzeň. Pardubice scored first. Towards the end of the match, Pardubice got one player sent off and Cicilia equalized. Instead of scoring the winning goal, Pardubice got to a breakaway and Hlavatý scored the winner for the away team in the added time.
- Olomouc also lost their match, Liberec was better, scored a beautiful goal by Penner and Horský added the second goal.
- Ostrava had by far the worst start of all the teams. Losing 3-0 at České Budějovice which are almost broke is unforgivable and their coach Hapal could be in trouble very soon.

Highlights of this round:

- Plzeň won in an overall good match in Ostrava with an added time goal. This match could have gone either way.
- On Sunday, Sparta with 8 changes with respect to their match in Instanbul, won against Liberec. After a goalless half, Sparta scored twice in span of two minutes, Liberec only managed to get one goal later. Sparta is now four points in the lead and is the clear favourite to win the title.

- Plzeň also scored twice early in their match at Bohemians and then was able to control the match to a win.
- Slovácko on the other hand went 1-0 up in Zlín but then Daníček was sent off after a VAR review and Zlín scored twice late in the second half to turn this local derby around.
- In the fight to avoid relegation, Karviná looks bad, losing three times 0-3 at home in the span of eight days.
- České Budějovice lost 2-5 in Jablonec and are still last in the standings.

Round 18
February 21: Teplice - Olomouc 2:0 (Att: 3 047)

Round 22
February 24: Hradec Králové - Mladá Boleslav 0:0 (Att: 5 509)
February 24: Ostrava - Bohemians 1:1 (Att: 8 419)
February 24: Teplice - Karviná 2:2 (Att: 3 475)
February 24: Liberec - Jablonec 3:3 (Att: 4 427)
February 24: Plzeň - Zlín 3:0 (Att: 9 134)
February 25: České Budějovice - Olomouc 2:1 (Att: 2 398)
February 25: Slavia Praha - Pardubice 3:0 (Att: 17 562)
February 25: Slovácko - Sparta Praha 1:3 (Att: 8 000)

Highlights of this round:
- On Wednesday, the final postponed match was played, Teplice won against Olomouc and suddenly they are sort of in an european cups fight, at least theoretically. Then however they dropped two points against Karviná at home, so it is not that hot with their european ambitions. Still, Teplice play quite well in the spring.
- Sparta won at Slovácko despite resting some players. Their squad is however so strong that even usual substitutes form a squad that goes away to face one of the most unpleasant teams in the league and still wins. Birmančevič and Haraslín once again heroes for Sparta, these two wingers are by far the best the league can offer at their position.
- Slavia was clearly the better team against Pardubice, but started scoring goals only after an hour of play. Chytil then scored a hattrick in less than ten minutes (actually the fastest hattrick in modern league history).
- Plzeň won persuasively against Zlín, Šulc scored twice and moved to the top of the goalscorers list.
- Other teams fighting for european spots struggle a lot. Ostrava was far better than Bohemians but still found a way to drop two points, conceding late in the match. Olomouc is atrocious after the winter break and Mladá Boleslav won just one out of last ten matches!
- The points were split in the Ještěd derby after a heroic comeback by Liberec, which was 0-2 and 1-3 down in the second half. Liberec is actually one of the better clubs in the spring and may very well end up in the top6.

Round 23
March 2: Jablonec - Hradec Králové 1:1 (Att: 1 832)
March 2: Mladá Boleslav - České Budějovice 3:1 (Att: 2 021)
March 2: Olomouc - Bohemians 2:2 (Att: 3 478)
March 2: Karviná - Slovácko 1:3 (Att: 1 820)
March 2: Pardubice - Plzeň 2:3 (Att: 3 849)
March 3: Teplice - Liberec 2:0 (Att: 4 067)
March 3: Zlín - Ostrava 0:1 (Att: 5 465)
March 3: Sparta Praha - Slavia Praha 0:0 (Att: 18 283)

Highlights of this round:
- The big Prague derby was boring and deservedly goalless. Slavia came for a point and got it, Sparta was happy with a point as well, as now they are closer to the title. Not much else to say about this match.
- Plzeň played almost the whole match against 10 men as Pardubice's Halinský saw a red card in 6th minute. Plzeň scored three goals within ten minutes around halftime, but then conceded twice and needed to be worried a little bit in the end.
- Slovácko won in Karviná, which remains at the relegation spot. Also here, the home team was playing one man down for more than 50 minutes.
- Ostrava won in Zlín and remains at N5. A single goal was enough, several other chances were wasted.
- Teplice are strongly pushing for european cups, deservedyĺy winning at home against Liberec, which had several players injured and/or banned for the match.
- No changes at the bottom of the table as all three relegation contenders lost.

Round 24
March 9: Bohemians - Mladá Boleslav 0:0 (Att: 5 905)
March 9: Hradec Králové - Pardubice 2:0 (Att: 8 519)
March 9: Slovácko - Jablonec 0:1 (Att: 4 229)
March 9: Liberec - Karviná 1:0 (Att: 1 831)
March 9: Ostrava - Olomouc 1:2 (Att: 9 751)
March 10: České Budějovice - Zlín 2:2 (Att: 2 412)
March 10: Slavia Praha - Teplice 4:0 (Att: 17 464)
March 10: Plzeň - Sparta Praha 4:0 (Att: 11 611)

Highlights of this round:
- a huge shock in Plzeň as the home team destroyed the league leader Sparta 4-0! Plzeň scored late in the first half, then early in the second half and soon after that, Sparta's captain Krejčí was sent off after second yellow card. The match was over and Plzeň added two more goals as cherries on top. This match demonstrated that there is still a big three in the league and not just big two. Chorý and Šulc are the offensive leaders of Plzeň these days.
- Slavia is back in the title race, taking advantage of Sparta's loss with an easy 4-0 win against Teplice. Jurásek scored a brace, Jurečka and Wallem both got one goal and one assist.
- The gap between top three teams and the rest widened even more, Slovácko lost at home to Jablonec. The fight for remaining two european cup spots is weird as no team acutally looks good enough to win it by themselves. Everybody is dropping points left and right.
- Ostrava lost at home to Olomouc and simply cannot win at home for several months already. Their coach Hapal may be in trouble, as well as Svědík, the coach of Slovácko.
- Mladá Boleslav looks very weak throughout the whole spring up to now, a point away at Bohemians is not bad but Boleslav showed almost nothing.
- Liberec slowly enters the race as well and may be a team to watch for the rest of the season, but they also needed a handball penalty to get a win against Karviná.

- Plzeň needed an 84' goal by Tomáš Chorý to break the 1-1 deadlock and secure all points from a tough match in Jablonec.
- Slovácko continues in poor performances and results and was lucky to get a point from Teplice after Fila did not convert a penalty in 80'.

Round 26
March 30: Olomouc - Pardubice 0:2 (Att: 3 366)
March 30: Bohemians - Jablonec 2:0 (Att: 5 895)
March 30: Plzeň - Liberec 1:3 (Att: 9 718)
March 30: Slovácko - Slavia Praha 1:3 (Att: 8 000)
March 31: Mladá Boleslav - Zlín 3:2 (Att: 2 381)
March 31: Hradec Králové - Karviná 2:1 (Att: 5 508)
March 31: Ostrava - Teplice 4:1 (Att: 9 440)
March 31: České Budějovice - Sparta Praha 0:1 (Att: 6 681)

Highlights of this round:
- After the international break, Sparta did not look very convincing, scored a goal in the first half, did not add a second one and had to be a bit worried until the end of the match. However, in the end it is three points for the league leader.
- Slavia also did not play very well but scored two goals from long shots and added third from the penalty spot and grabbed important three points from a difficult away match. Slovácko cannot be seen as a favourite to get the european cups spot at this point, they look quite weak in the spring.
- Plzeň lost at home to Liberec, which essentially ensured them third spot at the end of the league. They now have 11 points gap behind Slavia and 14 points gap ahead of Ostrava. It will likely be full focus on Europa Conference League QF against Fiorentina and czech cup. Luka Kulenovič scored two goals for Liberec.
- Ostrava moves to N4 with an important win against Teplice, which had multiple injured players, so they did not play at their full strength.
- Mladá Boleslav needed a 90+5' own goal by Zlín's Cedidla to get three points but in the end they move to N5 and still fight for european cups.
- Nothing changes in the fight to avoid relegation, all three clubs at the bottom lost.

Czech cup QF was finally finished with the last match today, after the match Jablonec - Plzeň was originally postponed due to fog. The results:

February 25: Opava (II) - Dukla Praha (II) 2:0
February 28: Zlín - Liberec 2:1 a.e.t.
February 28: Slavia Praha - Sparta Praha 2:3 a.e.t.
April 2: Jablonec - Plzeň 0:3

Czech cup SF draw:

April 3: Opava (II) - Sparta Praha
TBD: Plzeň - Zlín

The cup final was originally to be played April 24. This is no longer possible as Plzeň participates in the ECL QF. This means that Plzeň will likely play their czech cup SF on April 24 and the final will take place in May. If Plzeň qualifies for ECL SF as well as for czech cup final, the only possible remaining date for the final is May 22.

Round 27
April 6: Karviná - Plzeň 0:0 (Att: 3 026)
April 6: Zlín - Olomouc 3:2 (Att: 3 021)
April 6: Liberec - Slovácko 4:1 (Att: 3 451)
April 6: Slavia Praha - Bohemians 2:1 (Att: 19 034)
April 7: Teplice - Hradec Králové 0:1 (Att: 4 621)
April 7: Pardubice - České Budějovice 1:1 (Att: 3 131)
April 7: Jablonec - Ostrava 2:3 (Att: 2 518)
April 7: Sparta Praha - Mladá Boleslav 1:1 (Att: 17 009)

Highlights of this round:
- shocking result at Sparta where the home team dropped two points with a draw against Mladá Boleslav. It was 1-1 at halftime and Sparta started to pressure their opponent in the second half when Preciado was sent off after he hit his opponent when the ball was not in play. Preciado was sent off for the same thing already against Slavia a month ago and only recently returned after serving three match ban. Sparta even in ten men was much better than Boleslav but failed to score from several chances.
- Slavia is the new leader of the standings. It was not an easy match against Bohemians, the score was goalless at halftime but then Slavia scored twice quickly in the second half and Bohemians got their goal from the last shot of the match at the end of added time, so there was no drama.
- Plzeň has nothing to play for, they were better early in the match in Karviná, but an unlucky (probably season ending) injury of Sýkora hindered their effort and the match ended goalless. Plzeň will almost surely finish third in the league and their interests now lie in the ECL and in czech cup.
- Ostrava keeps their fourth spot with an important win in Jablonec. It surely seems that Ostrava will finally make it to the european cups after being seen as the fourth most wealthy club in the country for about five years now.
- Slovácko on the other hand is falling down and a heavy defeat at Liberec may very well push them out of the top6 in the end. Liberec on the other hand got a huge boost during last week as the ownership of the club changed and new owner brought their former players Nezmar and Gebre Selassie to the leadership of the club.
- In the battle to avoid relegation Zlín won against Olomouc, which is very poor recently and their fans are fighting against the owner of the club. A change of ownership is also in play, though it has not yet reached final stages.
- Both České Budějovice and Karviná earned a point, so nothing really changes at the very bottom of the standings.

Round 28
April 13: Bohemians - Sparta Praha 1:3 (Att: 6 195)
April 13: Mladá Boleslav - Teplice 1:2 (Att: 2 421)
April 13: České Budějovice - Liberec 3:2 (Att: 2 398)
April 13: Hradec Králové - Slovácko 1:0 (Att: 6 012)
April 14: Zlín - Pardubice 1:1 (Att: 3 143)
April 14: Olomouc - Jablonec 1:0 (Att: 3 036)
April 14: Ostrava - Karviná 2:2 (Att: 12 296)
April 14: Plzeň - Slavia 1:0 (Att: 11 477)

Highlights of this round:
- after just one round we have another change at the top of the standings. Slavia looked very weak against Plzeň, did not create anything and was the whole match under pressure from Plzeň. This resulted in the only goal scored in the 88th minute by Šulc. Slavia deservedly falls back to N2 and needs to win out to clinch the title. Slavia will face Olomouc at home and Hradec Králové away in the last two matches of the main part of the league.
- Sparta went 1-0 down at Bohemians but was able to bounce back, scored twice within ten minutes after conceding the goal and in the end won comfortably. Sparta is back on top and will face Ostrava at home and Olomouc away in the last two matches before the title group of the playoffs.
- Ostrava lead 1-0 and 2-1 against Karviná but wasn't able to hold the lead and once again failed at home and added just one point. It was still enough to enlarge their gap to N5 to four points as other clubs lost their matches.
- Mladá Boleslav fell at home to Teplice quite deservedly.
- Slovácko is definitely the worst team in the top seven of the league at this point and surely will have trouble to stay in top6 for the playoffs. The coach Martin Svědík already stated that he quits Slovácko after the season - after more than 5 and a half years.
- Liberec is on the rise but surprisingly lost in České Budějovice so they are still outside the top6, although they are seen at this point as one of the main european cups contenders.
- Olomouc defeated Jablonec despite being one man down for more than 60 minutes of the match. Jablonec which not that long ago played european cups, will once again play in the relegation group. Meanwhile fans in Olomouc are fighting with the leadership of the club and it came down to severed pig heads placed in front of the stadium the night before the match against Jablonec (see https://twitter.com/MichalKvasnica/stat ... 9531397177).

Round 29
April 20: Sparta Praha - Ostrava 4:3 (Att: 17 706)
April 20: Karviná - Bohemians 1:1 (Att: 1 754)
April 20: Jablonec - Zlín 0:0 (Att: 1 250)
April 20: Teplice - České Budějovice 2:2 (Att: 3 107)
April 21: Liberec - Hradec Králové 0:0 (Att: 2 611)
April 21: Slavia Praha - Olomouc 2:2 (Att: 17 986)
April 21: Pardubice - Mladá Boleslav 1:2 (Att: 2 885)
April 21: Slovácko - Plzeň 1:1 (Att: 4 631)

Highlights of this round:
- six draws out of eight matches, so not much movement in the standings.
- however, the key piece of news is Sparta winning their home match against Ostrava. After a slow start, Sparta scored before halftime and lead 1-0 at HT. They went 3-0 and 4-1 up before Ostrava scored their last two goals and made the last minutes of the match a bit interesting. Sparta is now ensured to top the standings after 30 rounds and will play Slavia at home in three weeks.
- Slavia shockingly dropped two points at home against Olomouc which is most of the spring season absolutely atrocious. Slavia wasted a lot of chances in first 20 minutes and then stopped playing. Olomouc scored in the second half from a set piece and then added a second after a comical mistake by Zima, a 4M Euro record breaking winter signing of Slavia. Slavia only managed to equalize, is now 4 points behind Sparta and needs to hope that Sparta won't win all of their five remaining matches outside of the Prague derby.
- the only other winner of this round is Mladá Boleslav which sealed their place in the top6 and plays for a direct entry to the ECL Q2 which will likely be ensured by N4 as a result of the czech cup.

Czech cup SF:

April 3: Opava (II) - Sparta Praha 0:2
April 24: Plzeň - Zlín 3:0

As expected, Sparta and Plzeň will face off in the cup final on May 22 in Plzeň, just four days ahead of their league match in the final round of the playoffs. No matter who wins the cup final, it is all but ensured now that Plzeň will take the CW spot and play the EL Q3 in summer, as they are at N3 in the league with huge gaps both up and down and six league matches to play.

Round 30
April 28: Bohemians - Pardubice 2:1 (Att: 5 905)
April 28: Jablonec - Mladá Boleslav 1:1 (Att: 2 027)
April 28: Olomouc - Sparta Praha 1:4 (Att: 12 359)
April 28: Zlín - Karviná 0:1 (Att: 3 910)
April 28: Plzeň - Teplice 3:0 (Att: 8 632)
April 28: Ostrava - Liberec 2:2 (Att: 10 011)
April 28: Hradec Králové - Slavia Praha 1:2 (Att: 9 300)
April 28: České Budějovice - Slovácko 2:2 (Att: 3 154)

Highlights of this round:
- all matches started on Sunday at 15:00. Nothing new at the top of the standings, Sparta won easily in Olomouc and has a four point lead heading to the play-offs and needs four wins in the playoffs to win the league.
- Slavia's match in Hradec Králové wasn't pretty but two late goals in the first half were enough and Hradec scored only in the added time .
- Plzeň continues to play essentially for nothing but anyway won against Teplice thanks to two goals by striker Tomáš Chorý.
- Ostrava drew with Liberec and because Slovácko also clinched a point against České Budějovice, the top 6 didn't change in the last round. Liberec is now a clear favourite to win the middle group and play for ECL Q2 spot against N5 after the playoffs.
- In the fight to avoid relegation Karviná won a crucial match in Zlín and now both these clubs are ahead of České Budějovice and will play Budějovice at home in the play-offs. Budějovice lead 2-1 but a fatal mistake of their goalkeeper cost them two points. The relegation fight is going to be fascinating.
