Still ECL? CoL? Are three distinct two-letter acronyms for the three competitions too much to ask for? :sigh:
I'll continue to use the abbreviation :clown:L.

This new Swiss system is best suited to strong clubs with bad coefficients, let's say next season it will probably be Aston Villa, Brighton, Girona, Bilbao, Sociedad, Bologna, Stuttgart, Freiburg, Monaco, Nice, Brest, etc. These clubs have large the chances of falling into the groups of death according to the old system, while under the new system there are no more groups of death, but only one group and the coefficients are not so important. On the other hand, clubs with high coefficients from weaker leagues will have a much more difficult task to advance to the Top 24, or Top 16, because they will lose the advantage of high coefficients in GS. :dontknow:

Which they'll have to do if 2 of those pairs end up in the same bracket pair, but that's very unlikely to happen. :)
And maybe country protection. However, immagine team 1 is from england, just like teams 15 and 16. Such clash is impossible to avoid.

There will be no country protection in the knockout rounds after the league phase.
