Remco Evenepoel was just superb in LBL and became the younger to have 2 wins here. It was his first classic this season.
Now he will fight for Giro.
Pogacar has a broken wrist and will go for surgery but he had schedule a competition break. He will be back to prepare the Tour.
If everything goes as planned we will have to wait for Vuelta to watch these two sharks duelling.

His biggest result on his short road racing career (he is better on track with several medals in European championships and one silver in WC).

36 retirements, 16 due to COVID.NederPAOKtzis wrote: ↑Wed May 17, 2023 09:57 And now four teammates of Evenepoel have to retire due to COVID-19.
Yesterday Vlasov (6th, COVID), today 3rd Tao Geoghegan Hart (crash) and the stages are simply hell. Very long distances, lots of mountain and really reall bad weather (rain and cold).
Can't they reach in the middle (not to easy, not too hard)?
very long distances? I am always surprised by that opinion.
I started following cycling in the eigthies, when 150km for a stage was very small. 200-250 was normal. 300 was very long distance.
And nowadays 190 is seen as very long. Times change
But the weather is making it very hard this Giro, not that it's just cold, but riders have to be alert constantly, as the fall of the top 3 showed
(It was not Covid, but Covi who caused the exit of Geoghegan Hart)

for those interested in cycling I watched the Netflix Series called Tour de France I think and although not big fazn of cycling I found it enoyable to watch and understand teams strategies.
