The second encounter between GB and Poland ended 1-1, and it went to a shootout that went as follows:

Poland:
Ben Bowns in the goal
I also decided to look at what happened in our domestic ice hockey season. Congratulations to Sheffield Steelers who completed a Grand Slam, winning the League, Cup and Playoffs!
They were really dominant, lots of crushing victories through the season. They won the league with an over 4 goals scored a game average, easily the best defence, and 91pts. Cardiff Devils in 2nd had 77pts. They also became the first team to ever win every game in the cup. It'll be interesting to see if such a dominant team can do anything in Europe next season. They weren't in Europe this season.
The Belfast Giants, who came third, represented us in the Champions League this season. It's got a system like the football one is going to have now. Top 16 go to the KO stage after 6 games, and the Giants just missed out, finishing 17th.
Cardiff Devils were in the Continental Cup, the Europa League equivalent. They actually made it through to the final round, and got to host the group, but could only finish 3rd.

Newey has having talks with Ferrari since quite some time. Some said that Hamilton believes Newey will join Ferrari.Ricardo wrote: ↑Sun Apr 28, 2024 23:44Rumors are that Newey, Max and Marko all will move to Mercedes…. Newey has a big contract on the table with Ferrari: +50% paycheck and more power. Problem: Ferrari want him working in 12 months period while Red Bull claims contract is valid until end 2025.
Max Verstappen is #1 option for Wolff. If he gets Newey its a good card to get Verstappen and he gets the best designer. Waiting till 2026 (working on 2027 car) might not be a problem.
Max has a clause that if Marko leaves, he can leave too and Marko is set to leave since Horner/Milton Keynes/ Thailand fraction won first battle for power against Marko/Salzburg faction.

Its official: Adrian Newey will leave Red Bull at the end of the season, Red Bull announced it itself. Now Ferrari or Mercedes who is trying to sign with 2 Newey's disciples from RB. Seems a revolution ongoing on Red Bull and its the end of an era (Marko-Horner-Newey triumvirate).
Without Newey, Max staying looks less and less likely.
This was announced in the 30th anniversary of the departure of Ayrton Senna.

Devolution more like, such a winning team imploding like this. It's pretty pathetic, isn't it? They have it all, dominating the sport like it's never been dominated before, and they're seemingly throwing it all away.rpo.castro wrote: ↑Wed May 01, 2024 14:37 Its official: Adrian Newey will leave Red Bull at the end of the season, Red Bull announced it itself. When Dietrich Mateschitz everyone knew who was the boss and their roles. With his death is a struggle for power, and knowing some personas inside Red Bull with Marko at the head and adding the hot head Jos Verstappen, it was just a question of time.
In some way I m happy to see Red Bull losing strength because they could be set for a very dominat period, but if they really turn in a kind of McLaren 2010-2018 it will be sad and bad for sport. I just hope that people leaving RB join the same team. Trading a dominant team for another isn't a good deal.
it's Thai/Horner vs. Marko/Verstappen. A pity they have to get against eachother.
If Max leaves, who will ride the rocket car then? Will he be good enough to be champion? It would be nice to see how good Max is with another one in the RB and Max in another car...
I wonder when the decisions will be made. in 1 month, in 3, in 6?

The natural choice is Mercedes, isn't it? Max can step into the spot left open by Hamilton, and we've seen over the years what a superb team they are. Maybe they won't have a competitive car the first season, but Newey and the minds and mechanics at Mercedes can certainly build another rocket ship custom made for Max.Ricardo wrote: ↑Wed May 01, 2024 23:20 it's Thai/Horner vs. Marko/Verstappen. Max has only one place to go if he decides to leave: mercedes. They ve made a power unit miles ahead of everyone else and the car was also very good until 2022 when they screw up, still its 8 years of dominance. Surely they can put it again.Lorric wrote: ↑Thu May 02, 2024 00:30The natural choice is Mercedes, isn't it? As for Red Bull replacing Max, could be Sainz (thats why he is being pressured by Audi). Max has time so does have Mercedes. Newey and Hamilton were the ones with a short deadline, and other technicians too due to gardening leave.
