In Russia, Zenit won their 5th straight league title, their 9th Russian league title, and their 10th overall league title (including a Soviet league title in 1984 as Zenit Leningrad).

So they qualified for … neither the UEFA Champions League nor the AFC Champions League.

*Due to the suspension of all Russian national teams and clubs from UEFA competitions until further notice, as decided by the UEFA Executive Committee on 28 February 2022, having as a consequence that no Russian clubs are participating in the current 2022/23 UEFA club competitions season, Russia will be assigned with the lowest amount of coefficient points they have earned over the last five seasons, i.e. 4.333 points for the men’s association club coefficient and 1.750 for the women’s association club coefficient upon completion of the 2022/23 season.

England was susupended in the 80's from Uefa for 5 (five) years! because of Heysel desaster in a football match with many deaths involved caused by Liverpool ultras.
I am courious how much Russia's ban will last. But just compare both cases (FCL liable for this and total English Clubs have been suspended and Russia's case). Russia should be suspended as long as they terrorize other countries and this could last even much longer than the English Club ban was.

In fact immediately after Heysel UEFA announced that the ban was to be indefinite, later they decided for it to be 5 years and for Liverpool 6 years. Also in a true self-contradictory style UEFA banned English clubs but didn't ban England NT though troubles during England matches were usually much bigger than during club matches. Heysel disaster was triggered yes by hooligans but fans died not because of hooligans but because the wall collapsed..
As for Russian clubs I can't see the ban lifted while Putin is in power. And even if (hopefully) Putin will die soon there are no guarantees that his successor will be better... So I don't see any future for Russia in Europe now.
