There has to be a break of about 4 weeks because of scheduling not because of winter. Bundesliga has 34 games a season instead of 38 games a season like other countries. If Bundesliga starts playing now, the season would end in mid April instead of mid May.

Leipzig - Bayern 1-1. Not the best game between them, but at least there was no clear and one-sided Bayern win (unlike the season opener at Eintracht).

Bundesliga MD-17 is an "english week" from 1/24 to 1/25. My order to watch:
Best 3 games: Bayern-Köln, Freiburg-Frankfurt, Schalke-Leipzig
Next 3 games: Mainz-Dortmund, Bremen-Union, Hertha-Wolfsburg
Last 3 games: Augsburg-Gladbach, Leverkusen-Bochum, Hoffenheim-Stuttgart

What a strange late game: Köln beat Werder Bremen 7-1. Even more surprising was Wolfsburg's 6-0 against Freiburg, who normally are very stable. Nothing new in Berlin: West Berlin with an L, East Berlin with a W.

No away win so far in the 7 Bundesliga games.

2.55, the Wolfsburg win at Hertha (2.55 on Saturday). Easiest money in a while, you rarely get such good opportunities in big leagues.

Bayern only 1-1 (late Kimmich goal, but a pretty one) against Köln. Bad start for them after the long break. Before the WC they were invincible. Next game at home against Eintracht!

Yes, the away win was very likely.
I took the 1.55 for Leipzig at Schalke and I'm a bit mad that I only made it a 100€ bet.

Hinrunde is over. Since 2011-12 season, after Bundesliga MD 17 roughly six teams within Top 7 remained there by the end of the season.
In parenthesis also the teams and positions that jumped into Top 7 after MD 34.

2011-12 (6/7, 8th → 6th, Stuttgart)
2012-13 (6/7, 10th → 7th, Hamburg)
2013-14 (6/7, 9th → 7th, Mainz)
2014-15 (6/7, 17th → 7th, Dortmund)
2015-16 (6/7, 8th → 6th, Mainz)
2016-17 (6/7, 9th → 7th, Freiburg)
2017-18 (6/7, 14th → 7th, Stuttgart)
2018-19 (6/7, 9th → 4th, Leverkusen)
2019-20 (6/7, 9th → 7th, Freiburg)
2020-21 (6/7, 8th → 5th, Frankfurt)
2021-22 (5/7, 10th → 4th, Leipzig, 8th → 7th, Köln)
2022-23 (6/7? )

In two seasons, being 7th was not enough to gain the european ticket, though.
- In 2012-13, instead of the 7th, Hamburg, it was the 13th, Stuttgart as Pokal runner-up.
- In 2017-18, instead of the 7th, Stuttgart, it was the 8th, Frankfurt, as Pokal champion.

Maybe it's not too late for Leverkusen (8th).

Business as usual in the Berlin derby , while Wolfsburg can be stopped after all.
Freiburg find again the three points, the awful moment of Hoffenheim goes on, and Bochum show once again that they are a home team.

Third consecutive draw for Bayern, this time aganst Eintracht. I have seen the last 10 minutes, Eintracht had a couple of decent chances to win the game.

DFB Pokal R16
1/31: Paderborn-Sttugart, Union-Wolfsburg
2/1: Leipzig-Hoffenheim, Mainz-Bayern
2/7: Sandhausen-Freiburg, Frankfurt-Darmstadt
2/8: Nürnberg-Düsseldorf, Bochum-Dortmund

If any of the Top 6 (in bold) win the Pokal, the 7th of the Bundesliga goes to UECL. I think it's likely that happens.
Terrible from DFB to schedule Dortmund game just a week before the key UCL clash vs Chelsea.

9 of 9 possible points for Dortmund after the break. First two games against underdogs were a bit shaky with late goals, but playing with Haller helps a lot, as we could see now against Leverkusen. Thats why they bought him for a lot of money as Haaland replacement.
