Stuttgart 3-0 Hamburg

So sad for Hamburg, another year in the dungeons.

In the meantime, several rumors about a separation of Bundesliga and 2. Bundesliga can see the top flight of german football as a completely different entity as in the EPL or the Serie A.

Stuttgart's team is too good for that. They shouldn't even be in the relegation playoff, more on 12th place or so. Too bad for HSV how things went in the injury time in Regensburg. The stadium announcer in Sandhausen already congratulated HSV for being back in Bundesliga.

The other playoff game: Wehen-Wiesbaden (3rd division) vs Arminia Bielefeld (2. Bundesliga): 4-0 :fingal:

Looking forward to the cup final (20.00 CET). Hope Eintracht wins another trophy and clinches EL GS instead of only ECL playoffs. I see a slightly bigger risk for them to fail in the ECL playoff tie because they'll get a new coach whereas Leverkusen should be more stable at the start of the season. And opponents like Bodø/Glimt or Besiktas are not a walk in a park, unlike the group stage in this competition when you are a pot 1 team. Odds are 1.43 to 2.80 for Leipzig, no doubt that they are favorites, lets see if Eintracht can show their KO game mentality in Glasner's final game.

So, season is over:
Darmstadt 98 and 1. FC Heidenheim got promoted.
Schalke 04 and Hertha BSC got relegated. With two of the biggest stadiums in Germany.
Stuttgart stays after beating HSV in the playoffs.

In the 2. Bundesliga, Sandhausen, Regensburg and Bielefeld got relegated. Elversberg, Osnabrück and Wehen-Wiesbaden got promoted from 3rd Liga.

Some playoffs in lower divisions are still to come. In 7 hours for example the first leg of Energie Cottbus - Unterhaching for the promotion to 3rd Liga. Both with some Bundesliga history.

As the BL and BL2 teams for next season are known, an estimation of their expected TV income (in million) would be:

Leverkusen and Leipzig getting too much of a reward despite doing nothing to threat Bayern's supremacy.

@BurningStorm Do you know if Bayern still want Rice? He didn't just have a storming season in the Premier League, he got player of the Conference League following captaining his team to a European trophy:

They definitely want, now he has to decide between Bayern and Arsenal. From what I saw the most Bayern fans are pessimistic because English (top) players usually don't leave their beloved Premier League. He would play CL too and could even stay in the city.

Dino Toppmöller is the new coach of Eintracht Frankfurt. He was Nagelsmann's assistant coach at Bayern and Leipzig. As head coach he worked in Luxembourg and Belgium. He was 3-times champion with Malko's Dudelange and survived the EL qualification rounds in 2018/19 against Legia (one win, one draw) and Cluj (two wins), then they got a group with Betis, Olympiacos and Milan.

He is the son of Klaus Toppmöller, Leverkusen's coach in the CL final 2002.

It's always a risk to sign former assistant coaches. In the most cases it doesn't work. At least he had some success before, even if it was only in Luxembourg. Hope it works out.
