Schedule for LaLiga Jornada 38, revised to have all teams playing for the ECL spot playing at the same hour; ditto for any team involved in the last open space in The Drop
Sun. 4 June 1830
Mallorca 3, Rayo 0 Scoreless at the half in Son Moix. 14,521 reported on hand. At 51', Muriqii scores to give Mallorca the lead--1-0. At 71', Kang-In Lee assists Copete,, who heads in for 2-0. Angel Rodríguez makes it 3-0 at 93'; that's the final.
Osasuna 2, Girona 1 Scoreless first half. At 52', Budimir gives Osasuna the lead, thus lifting Osasuna into seventh place. Second goal reported for Osasuna--no confirmation yet. And now there is--Budimir again at 55'. Well, it's not over yet--Reinier cuts the margin to 2-1 at 75'. Osasuna holds on to win and clinch the seventh slot in LaLiga.
Real Madrid 1, Athletic 1 Scoreless first half. Sancet scores for Athletic at 49'--at the moment, Athletic is in seventh place. But Osasuna has scored twice, and they are close to nailing down seventh place. At 72', Benzema converts a pk--1-1. That's the final; el Real finishes in second place, thanks to Villarreal's late goal vs Atleti.
Real Sociedad 2, Sevilla 1 At 28', Brais Méndez gives la Real the lead--1-0. And still 1-0 at the half in Anoeta. Cho makes it 2-0 for la Real at 73'; Lamela cuts the margin to 2-1 at 77'. La Real wins it.
Villarreal 2, Atlético 2 Jackson gives Villarreal the lead at 9'--1-0. Correa ties for Atleti at 18'--1-1. And it's still 1-1 at the half. Correa scores his second of the day at 56', and Atleti takes over second place, at the moment. Jorge Pascual ties it for Villarreal at 92'; Atlético finishes LaLiga in third place,
At halftime in the above games, Osasuna is #7--that is, at the moment, they are Spain's ECL team next season. Can they hold on
Sun. June 4 2100
Celta 2, Barça 1 Gabri Veiga gives Celta the lead at 42'; now at halftime. Gabri Veiga makes it 2-0 at 65. At 80', Ansu Fati scores with a header; assist by Dembélé--2-1; that's the final.
Elche 1, Cádiz 1 Escalante scores for Cádiz at 10'; now at the half. Lucas Boyé ties for Elche at 71'--1-1 the final, although one of my sources has Cádiz winning this game 0-1.
Espanyol 3, Almería 3 Bilal gives Almería the lead at 10'; Puado ties for Espanyol at 12'; now at the half. At 49', it's 2-1; at 58', it's 2-2; at 73', it's 3-2, and at 87', it's 3-3. Almería would have dropped had they not gotten a point from this game. Pierre Gabrlel and Koleosho scored goals 2 and 3 for Espanyol; Embarba scored goals 2 and 3 for Almería.
Betis 1, Valencia 1 Ayoze Peréz gives Betis the lead at 10'; 1-0 at the half. Diego López ties for Valencia at 71'.
Valladolid 0, Getafe 0 Scoreless first half in Pucela. As things stand, Valladolid is going down. If Valladolid scores and wins, Valencia would drop. But the game ends scoreless, and Valencia pulls out a tie, so Valladolid was going down in any case--they had to win to avoid the drop
Thus Valladolid drops and everybody else stays up, except Elche and Espanyol, both of which had already dropped.

Djalminha, one of the very best and my favourite. He played for Deportivo la Coruna and Brazil.

Osasuna are currently 7th, but a goal of Girona, Bilbao or Vallecano change everything.
International break hater
Athletic scored, but Osasuna scored two in quick succession. Osasuna would be ahead of Athletic thanks to h2h.
