Have they explicitly said the league system would be used?
Yes, the league system of dividing teams into three leagues A-C will be used for both Women's Euro and WWC qualifying.

So what UEFA need to decide is how many automatic spots are available, how many play-off spots are available, and how many teams advance to the play-offs and what is the format of the play-offs.
If it's me, by the time of WWQ, you've already had 3 of these competitions. So no one has any excuse that they didn't have a chance to get into a position to qualify. Top 2 in League A automatic, 3rds vs B winners in playoffs. Worst record of the 4 winners to the intercontinental playoffs. A 3rds are always considered superior to B winners in this calculation. If possible, have A 4ths vs B winners first and winners of that vs A 3rds.
What about C teams? Let them rot?

Interesting. England will aim to hit the ground running with Sweden at Wembley first. ROI away 2nd. Then we go head to head with France on MDs 3+4, starting at St. James' Park. Finally ROI at Carrow Road before Sweden away. I like our order of fixtures. Home first every window, so no back and forth travel.

The title defence has begun! James with a lovely lob-cross over the defenders and a diving header by Russo puts England 1-0 up!

1-0 HT. Happy with the lead, but Sweden have been the better team. England energy level is surprisingly low. Hope they come out strong for the second half and get this crowd going...

It's been coming. 1-1. England performance level has been well below expectation.
