Some of those odds look profitable on the dead rubbers. These matches are played just before players head to either the World Cup or the beach. No one is going to risk injury. That makes the underdog or draw a much more appealing option at those odds.

The final squads aren't announced yet. So you can also have several "extremely motivated" players trying to get a spot in their national teams.

I guess you think that Leverkusen will be unmotivated because they are out. In this particular case, I think that they will try to win as much as they can. We will see, it is only my guessing.

Leverkusen is more motivated, they fight for Europa League, and with a better squad. Odds are normal, in fact I ve already made a bet on Leverkusen -0.75 :grin1:

No, it's not about motivation at all. I don't see Leverkusen as that much more quality team than Club Brugge as the odds would suggest.

Ok, I see. Assuming that Leverkusen will be fully motivated, these odds seem to be not so strange to me. Although I admit I am not good in making predictions for this kind of matches when one club is already motivated.

BTW: I expect I will have a poor week in the Prediction Game due to this fact.

edit: I would give it 1.75-1.80 for Leverkusen to win, but all in all, I think they will beat Club Brugge.

Odds for Leverkusen to win are going up. Currently 1.65 for their win is an average and 1.71 is the highest. We will see how they will look like shortly before the kick off time.

Club Brugge has three important defensive players suspended and their last matches were really weak.
Leverkusen is clear favorite.

Leverkusen - Brügge in the early slot. Bookies believe in a home win. Bayer had some bad luck in the first duel, the equalizer was refused by VAR because of 1mm offside. Brügge's goal after a corner was a huge blunder by Hradecky, a gift. I remember some good chances for Leverkusen in the 2nd half, but they wasted them all in their typical way. If they had been as efficient and concentrated throughout the group stage as they were twice against Atletico, they would be in a better place in the table. Lets see if they can catch the EL spot, I can't trust them after all the slapstick, plus Brügge are unbeaten away, and my feeling says Atletico win in Porto anyway.

Bayern - Inter is not important anymore. Bayern will rest many big names. So it wouldn't be a huge surprise if their incredible streak of unbeaten games in CL GS came to an end. On the other hand, their squad is deep and some of their best players are still on the pitch.

The game of the week for me, Sporting - Eintracht. A draw has the same meaning like a defeat. So they have to go for a win, then they'd be in the R16 of CL, maybe even as group winner. If they can't win in Lisbon, they have to hope for at least a point by Tottenham in France and then they would be back in the EL at least, and they wouldn't complain. The 4th place would be brutal and unlucky, especially since they've beaten OM twice. I'm a bit afraid of Conte's poor stats in the CL. He failed with Inter in the GS twice, he wasn't good with Juve in the CL (and even in the EL he failed when the final was in their own stadium, they had to watch it on tv).

Conte is suspended.

And since you were listing his sins, don't forget the not progressing from a Conference League group with Rennes, Vitesse and Mura. :grin1:
