Yeah! 4 crapshoot teams!

Hold on...I thought Bahrain were hosting not Thailand?! 🤔
Bahrain withdrew as hosts, and Thailand were named as replacement hosts.

Here is the schedule of the tournament between June 15-July 2.

Why aren't Thailand matches played in National Stadium and why a 7:5 between GS only venues? AFC do make questionable choices sometimes!

Why is Peru participating in Qualifiers when they're qualified as hosts? @amenina

The winners are crowned South American U-17 Champions. So for the same reason as if a European team hosted would also take part in U-17 Euro.

Yes it is their continental championship, so even the World Cup host country take part in it to try to win the title. And it is good preparation for the upcoming World Cup.

Not to mention, from what we saw in the U-20 World Cup, FIFA may switch hosts in short notice. So the host country berth is never guaranteed, and you better qualify outright to ensure the participation.

FIFA has withdrawn Peru’s hosting rights to the FIFA U-17 World Cup 2023.

So Peru were supposed to host the U-17 World Cup in 2019, 2021, 2023.... and none of that actually happened. Maybe in 2025?

Also notice the different wordings in the titles of the FIFA articles for the U-20 and U-17 World Cup host withdrawals.

I don't know how to change the title. :(

Also, I am too lazy and probably will wait until the new host is announced before I do it.

Edit the first post and the title above is editable.

Lorric said the same so I'd wait.

Interestingly Peru also bid for U20 to replace Indonesia.
