The Honduras loss surprises me, they smashed every team they faced beforehand.

CONCACAF U17 semi-finals

Mexico and USA reached the final.
Mexico won their 9th U17 title and their 5th in a row.
The win prevented USA from having a clean sweep of all active CONCACAF men’s and women’s football competitions, who currently hold the titles in Gold Cup, Nations League, Champions League, Women’s Championship, men’s and women’s U20 championships, and women’s U17 championship. I did not count the Men's Olympic Qualifying Championship, last won by Mexico in 2021, since it has been discontinued (now the top two teams of the U20 championship qualify for the Olympics).

Why dont they do a round robin? It would be 9 matches against 9 different teams rather than 9 matches against 7 different teams and play 2 twice.
Also if you put
around the PDF link it shows as an image I'll have you know!
Yes, a round-robin is seems preferable but perhaps they calculate that some teams will effectively be eliminated too early.
