Congratulations to Aberdeen! I'm looking forward to seeing you in Europe
Cheers Crvena Zvedza - now that's a trip I would like one day as I have never visited Belgrade yet - and it looks great from a football and non-football experience.

Still have memories of your beautiful 90/91 side smashing (the former) rangers and confusing the whole of Europe with strange defensive tactics in the final, when you were like Brazil 1970 in the previous rounds !
You are welcome in Belgrade! It's not the right place to talk about this but I will briefly explain it. Our coach back then, Ljupko Petrović, decided to surprise Marseille by giving them the ball, defending and hence preventing them from running in the counter attacks since they had some seriously fast players. He explained it later like this: "I was thinking and thinking and chose the variant in which we close the approaches to our goal and play decadently in the block, for the result. Before I decided that, I asked the players in the base: "Do you want to play nice or do you want to raise the cup?" It echoed from all sides: "Let's be champions of Europe! - If that's the case, just listen to me now and you'll never have to again!""
Your club name is definitely taboo for my dad. "The worst sensation of my life of supporterism" :sad1:
I was just a toddler so no trauma for me :)

So, one of the top 9 seeded teams in ECLQ2 must fall for Aston Villa to be seeded in Q4. Decided to see how 22.000 or more teams did in Q2 in the previous two tournaments.

There were seven such teams in Q2 this time. PAOK were eliminated by Levski Sofia.

And last time, there were 5, so there's been two more each time. They all made it. So 1/12 total.

Don't want to have to beat a team that recently won the Europa League just to qualify for the Conference League either. Villa shouldn't fear the seeds, but obviously it's better to be a seed themselves.

the seed line in ECLGS looks huge for Pot 1 but a lot of big teams will be eliminated in qualifying.

The scheme will be the same as EL 2017/18

They can ask West Ham, a team with similar colors, how it is to face Eintracht Frankfurt. :)

But I'm sure they'll be seeded anyway.

I just noticed Barcelona have dropped out of the 100 club! :o

They have declined each year in their 5 year total, 30.000/24.000/20.000/15.000/9.000. = 98.000.

Chelsea up there in 3rd with 126.000 not even in Europe. Wonder if that's a record for a team ranked that high to not even qualify for Europe?

Manchester City now emphatically in the lead with 146.000. English clubs in 1st, 3rd, 4th and 7th.

Pot 3 looks extremely weak. I wonder if they will do worse than 2016-2017 (five last in the group and just three to UEFA Cup).

Even fourteenth when using all rules for classification. But your point still stands.

Would love if Hearts or Hibs could sneak through and get Villa. They are unlikely to make the groups so would be a good fixture to go out on. Hibs lost their top scorer already tho but Boyle could be back by then

Well as it stands, they're going to have to beat someone who's seeded all the way in Q3 to be seeded in Q4 to draw Villa. Still think there's good odds Villa will get into the seeds though. I presume you'd still prefer them to draw the easiest team possible. They could end up drawing some random team from Norway or something that KO'd a seed in Q3 and got seeded in Q4.

I can't see any team in Q3 or 4 that they can realistically assume to beat

Not as a favourite, but I think there's plenty they could have a shot against in Q3. Q4, Partizan or Maccabi might give the best chance. And maybe Cluj since they seem to have to grind it out against most teams.

So happy this new season will kick off next week with the draws!! :)

Any ideas how the ECL-QR2 draw groups might look like now that we know all the teams?
In Game of Thrones conquerors always say to the defeated side: "Bend the knee and you''ll live". As if they weren't alive right now.

I'm smarter than it shows. Just don't want to discourage anyone.
