Seeding for UEFA Club Competitions 2023/24

Post by dnina10 »

Am opening up this thread from now. I have already prepared the Excel spreadsheet for the 2023/24 UEFA club competition seeding projections. It will be released within the next week, consistent with what I have done in recent years. Many interesting trends to pay attention to, which will be evident when you see it

Some minor typos: Kecskemét (not Kecskemeti), Bucuresti (not Bucurseti), Dunajska Streda (not Dunaska Streda) etc.

Awesome news!

I'm currently building an app based on this data to make the seeding predictions a bit more accessable for everyone, I'll let you know when I'm finished.

Hope this is alright to ask here - Am I correct in thinking that BK Häcken can have a coefficient of at most 8.250 next season? eg: in that case that Djurgårdens win their 7 remaining ECL games, the Swedish coeff wuld be 4.75 + (14/4) = 5.75 + 3.5 = 8.250, is that correct?

Swedish coefficient is 23.750 which means that any club from Sweden that has own coefficient less than then 20% of it which is 4.750 uses it. If Djurgårdens wins all their remaining 7 ECL matches will get 16.000 (2.000 per win and 2.000 bonus for reaching semifinal and final) coefficient points for themselves and add 16.000/4=4.000 to Swedish coefficient. So the Swedish coefficient will be 27.750 and the minimum coeffient for each Swedish club will be the 20% of it which is 6.937

Djurgården currently has 18 association coefficient points:

They gather 16 more if they win all the potentially remaining 7 matches. Remember, you get bonus points if you reach the semi final and the final:

16 / 4 = 4,000.

Current Swedish ranking points: 23,750

(23,750 + 4,000) / 5 = 5,550

BK Häcken can have 5,550 coefficient points at most for next season. They currently have 4,750:

Ah I understand, thank you for the explanation!

edit: And thanks also to @fotcalc!

I made a mistake though. 20% of 27.750 is 5.500 as @Fotcalc wrote. I don't know what I hit at my calculator :grin1:

@dnina10 Two small mistakes: Backa Topola in CLQR3 and then Partizan in the following round.

And Ludogorets that disappear in the ECLPO, despite being seeded in the previous round (because there are two English teams listed in the PO round instead of one)
