The FIFA Council were also updated on the appointment of the following tournaments by the FIFA Congress as per the following dates: FIFA Women’s World Cup 2027™ in Q2 2024 (with bid regulations for approval in March 2023), FIFA World Cup 2030™ in Q3 2024 (with bid regulations for approval in June 2023) and FIFA Women’s World Cup 2031™ in Q2 2025 (with bid regulations for approval in Q2 2024).
Thr FIFA Statutes were amended in 2021 requiring hosts to be selected by FIFA Congress for both sexes.

Tournament host(s) expected to be appointed by the FIFA Congress on 17 May 2024
FIFA launched the most robust and comprehensive bidding process in the history of the FIFA Women’s World Cup™ today, with the Congress expected to appoint, for the first time ever, the host(s) of the 2027 edition on 17 May 2024.
The process for the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2027™ maintains all key elements from the successful FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023™ bidding process, such as the publication of key content and documentation, the inclusion of robust rules of conduct and the implementation of a comprehensive evaluation model.
In addition, the 2027 process has been further enhanced to include the following new elements:
Decision-making process
The FIFA Council will select up to three bids, with the FIFA Congress then voting to appoint the host(s) through an open vote.
Bid Evaluation Task Force
FIFA will establish a Bid Evaluation Task Force to evaluate all bids submitted for the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2027™. The composition of the Bid Evaluation Task Force will be approved by the FIFA Council following confirmation of the bidding member associations.
Additional integrity measures
In addition to appointing an independent audit company to monitor FIFA’s compliance with the principles and procedures of the bidding process, each bidder will also be required to appoint a Bid Compliance and Ethics Officer to monitor their compliance with the bidding process.

FIFA Congress to appoint the host(s) on 17 May 2024
Following the invitation to all member associations (MAs) to express their interest in hosting the final competition of the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2027™, FIFA has received a total of four expressions from (in alphabetical order by country):
The Royal Belgian Football Association, the Royal Netherlands Football Association and the German Football Association (joint expression of interest)
The Brazilian Football Association
The South African Football Association
The U.S. Soccer Federation and the Mexican Football Association (joint expression of interest)
The expressions of interest represent four confederations (CAF, Concacaf, CONMEBOL and UEFA) and the remaining two (AFC and OFC) are hosting this year’s FIFA Women’s World Cup™. This level of participation confirms the global appeal of the competition.
FIFA will now send the Bidding Agreement – a document necessary to ensure that the key principles of the bidding process are observed – to the interested MAs, which will have until 19 May 2023 to return it and confirm their involvement.
“We are thrilled by the expressions of interest received, not least because they come from member associations with a strong football tradition representing four confederations, thus confirming the consistent popularity of women’s football across the world,” said FIFA Secretary General Fatma Samoura.
“All member associations can rely on the most robust and comprehensive bidding process in the history of the FIFA Women’s World Cup.”
The appointment of the host(s) is due to be made by the FIFA Congress via public voting on 17 May 2024.
