They edited the article, calling it an "adjusted" UEFA ranking: 3 points per win, 1 per draw, 3 per advancing a KO round. I'll better wait for official news...

Lol so none of our possibilities. Also it doesn't even confirm it's CL only (although it should). Off to counting it is then!

Edit: 3 per win, 1 per draw, 3 per next round, 0 for qualification of group stage.

20/21

Ajax: 7
RB: 4
Shakter: 8

21/22

Ajax: 22
RB: 14
Shaktar: 2

22/23

Ajax: 6
RB: 6
Shaktar: 6

23/24

Ajax: 0
RB: 4
Shaktar: 9

Total:

Ajax: 35
RB: 28
Shaktar: 25

Gazzetta's insider changed his mind once again - same article edited... For the first edition it will be UEFA ranking in Europe and FIFA points in the other continents, for the second edition it will be FIFA points everywhere.

So that would include the bonus points for qualification and therefore award it to Salzburg?

Edit:

Sucks (from my perspective) to have it decided on participation points (huge 5 point bonus for being in the group stage) rather than results.

Of course the worst part is not having it decided before the period starts. At least next time it's known, no doubt next time we'll get ahead on UEFA terms and behind on FIFA :fingal:

I guess so. They write: "It was not an easy decision, FIFA wanted their ranking in use for all the confederations. But since UEFA has its own ranking, they choose to confirm it for the first edition - and FIFA's one for the following ones."

I'm very disappointed.

Congrats to RB Salzburg though.

in summary, will we have breaks during the calendar year or will we always play?

"The final slot is allocated to a club from the host country, with further details being provided in due course."
I guess they are scared to give it to Inter Miami because Messi can potentially leave in any transfer window so they’ll just wait for the decision for as long as they can lmao

Just realized I forgot PSV as potential CL winner here, sorry PSV fans

I understand you. I am happy about the decision, but it is a joke that they decide it so late.
I didn't believe in this calculation anymore. Instead of Ajax and Barcelona it is Salzburg and Atlético (due to CL winner).

Not sure where this come from, but according to Sky Sport the tie-breakers are:
  • Best result(s?) in the 4-year period
  • Most recent result(s?)
  • Goal difference
  • Goals scored
Not sure if it applies in Europe too when we already have the most recent score(s) as tiebreaker, so:

Atletico 62 (RO16, QF, GS, ???)
Barcelona 55 (RO16, GS, GS, ???)
If Barça manages to tie Atletico, it will most likely be by reaching SF - which would make them ahead under any interpretation.

B. Dortmund 67 (QF, GS, RO16, ???)
Leipzig 61 (RO16, GS, RO16, ???)
Similarly here, and even a QF vs RO16 would lead to Leipzig having a better tiebreaker #2 (if I'm reading it the right way).

J**entus 47 (RO16, RO16, GS, dnq)
Napoli 41 (dnq, dnq, QF, ???)
Here it's already definite: if Napoli manages to reach 47 pts, they would already have the best result (QF vs RO16)

Thanks, I found it: https://sport.sky.it/calcio/mondiale-pe ... squadre#09

Best result and last result can also be coefficient based, right? Doesn't need to be round reached?
