I thought it was still in play when it happened. He hit Rice nearly immediately afterwards. Surely VAR would have chopped it if it was out.

2-1 FT. Another victory for West Ham! :applause:

I expect a hard game in store next week though. West Ham had a frustrating night trying to get what they were trying to do to happen, but they were definitely the better team, and they hardly ever let AZ get into the box, and if they can manage that again, they'll have a hell of a chance of going to the final.

AZ for their part had some good play on the ball and managed to not have another loss of possession at the back in the second half.

Shameful home loss for Fiorentina. They are wasting an incredibile opportunity to win an European cup.

It's not over til the fat lady sings. This was just the first half of a game and the Viola still has the better team.

But hey we won and yes, we bug @Firnen who I don't know why has something against us. ;-) It's as good as it gets for a non-Top-5 team.
