2023/24 UEFA club season: List of debutants

Post by seso »

We can discuss here about any clubs debuting in European football.
Any interesting names participating for the first time in European Cups?

In Sweden, if Mjällby AIF wins the Cup, it will be their first time in Europe. Their best finishing position has been 5th in 2020.

Energetik-BGU Minsk (Belarus), FC Hegelmann (Lithuania), and FK Auda (Latvia) will make their European debuts.

BK Häcken (Sweden) and Valmieras FK (Latvia) will make their Champions League debut.

Thank you amenina, I remember we had mentioned it, but I couldn't find the topic.

You can get a view here about clubs which will take part at european competitions for first time

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/ ... 1446662404

At Clubs tab you can see which clubs are currently qualifying and at Current Status tab you can see the top 8 positions of each league, the considered cup winner (the club with the higher coefficient of the remaining clubs in competition) the remaining league matches and how many clubs left at domestic cup. The clubs that are in caps haven't ever taken part in european competitions. There are few exceptions only (I noticed LASK and FCSB) and this is because the official club's name is initialism

Charleroi already qualified for Europe 4 times, most recently in 2020.

Luxembourg: Swift Hesperange won their first ever league title and qualified for the Champions League for the first time.

They have only qualified for Europe twice before: in the 1990/91 Cup Winners' Cup after winning the Luxembourg Cup, and in the 2021/22 Europa Conference League after finishing third in a COVID-abandoned season. They have yet to win a tie in Europe.
