What is the most important reason having draw groups on this level? And is it possible to take a qualified guess and say something about which club will be in the same draw group?

I think it could be split like this:

Champions Path

Seeded
GNK Dinamo (CRO)* vs Astana (KAZ)
Žalgiris Vilnius (LTU) vs Galatasaray (TUR)*
Zrinjski (BIH) vs Slovan Bratislava (SVK)*

Unseeded
Sheriff Tiraspol (MDA)* vs Maccabi Haifa (ISR)
Aris Limassol (CYP) vs BATE Borisov (BLR)*
AEK Athens (GRE)

Seeded
Breidablik (ISL) vs Copenhagen (DEN)*
HJK Helsinki (FIN) vs Molde (NOR)*
Raków Czestochowa (POL) vs Qarabağ (AZE)*

Unseeded
Ludogorets (BUL)* vs Olimpija Ljubljana (SVN)
Sparta Praha (CZE)
KÍ Klaksvík (FRO)* vs Häcken (SWE)

They'd also keep Raków and BATE apart with this

Knowing UEFA I am 99% sure FCK and Molde will be in the same group and one of their possible opponents will be Hacken :grin1:

I though there are no groupings in this round?

It is idiotic anyway, those are all pro sides, the awards are high enough and they should be able to travel anywhere.

Elo ratings of teams in the CL-Q3 champions path. In case of a pair, Elo of a higher rated club is taken.

Clubs in bold are seeded in the draw.

1654 Galatasaray/Zalgiris
1623 Dinamo Zagreb/Astana
1608 FCK/Breidablik

1600 Maccabi Haifa/Sheriff
1576 Sparta Praha
1571 Qarabag/Rakow
1552 Molde/HJK

1532 AEK Athens
1511 Ludogorets/Olimpija
1507 Häcken/Klaksvík
1398 Aris Limassol/BATE
1378 Slovan Bratislava/Zrinjski

For Dinamo, a good draw would mean the avoidance of Maccabi Haifa, Sparta and AEK. The remaining three options would be a good draw.

Theoretically, there is no official reason to form groups for this draw. Teams from Kosovo and Armenia are not there. If UEFA does it, it will be based purely on their mysterious principles.

UEFA should announce that teams from Belarus can't meet teams from Poland and Baltic countries, if indeed that's the case. No need to keep it secret

Judging by the rather political instead of geographical groups for Round One and Two, I'm quite sure some associations will have requested not to be drawn against teams from Belarus.

I d say AEK is probably better than Qarabag/Rakow and Molde, certainly bookies will make AEK favourites in those ties. May be Sparta also is better. But other than that I agree with Elo :D

They separate Kosovo from Bosnia-Herzegovina and Armenia from Azerbaijan. It's enough that one of these countries is not represented in each of these pairs and there is no need to separate anyone.
