No way Italy co-hosts but relinquishes the final to Turkey. One is usually considered a favorite (and is actually the current defending champion), the other isn't. And Turkey wouldn't risk breaking the association by trying to press the issue.
BTW, if this bid wins, these two can't waste the opportunity to market it as the "Roman Empire" European Championship, Eastern Empire vs Western. Though of course, Italian nationalists would take offense, hah.

Techically yes, 7/10 Turkish venues are in Asia (save for the 3 Istanbul venues)
Is Baku considered in Europe or Asia? They are one of the hosted cities in Euro 2020

Baku is located at the junction of Eastern Europe and Western Asia along the southern flanks of the Caucasus Mountains. Azerbaijan is situated both in the Northern and Eastern hemispheres of the Earth. Therefore, Baku is located in both Europe and Asia.
‘Europe’ is only partially a geographic, but more a cultural construct. Geographically, Baku is just outside Europe. Culturally, it is firmly in Asia. Azerbaijan, Armenia and Georgia considered to be located in Europe.
And they will choose an Italian stadium, 100%.Jackson Harrison wrote: ↑Sun Jul 30, 2023 10:05
The final venue will be decided by the UEFA Executive Committee.
From a neutral perspective, surely it should just go to the largest available stadium, therefore the San Siro, to allow as many fans as possible to witness the game?

As far as I know Turkish FA plans to remove tartan track surface and expand Ataturk Stadium, this means no more olympic stadium. So, Istanbul can be the host of the final in terms of capacity (potential 85000-90000). But I think UEFA will decide to play in Rome in any case.
To be fair, there'd have to be a concrete plan on that expansion, and it definitely be happening in time, for UEFA to take it into account.kenzel wrote: ↑Tue Aug 01, 2023 20:45As far as I know Turkish FA plans to remove tartan track surface and expand Ataturk Stadium, this means no more olympic stadium. That would be a sight to behold, very few stadiums of that size in football.
