Why is Atletico considered a lock for 1st? They finished 4th last year in a marginally better group...

Maybe the weakest group? If not Atletico, then who? I don't think they're a lock, but I see both Lazio and Celtic weak, Feyenoord I don't know.

I don't know enough about the strength of the other teams to make a confident prediction but I do know Celtic don't look great right now so I'm not confident they will do too well.

I'll be optimistic.

2. Feyenoord
3. Celtic

last night Lazio in the match against Napoli seemed to be making a great recovery compared to the first 2 matches in Serie A (Guendouzi very lively, Kamada is starting to fit into the mechanisms of the club)...Atletico for me 1st, for 2nd place I would say Lazio instead

1. Atletico Madrid 67%
2. Feyenoord 55%
3. Lazio 53%
4. Celtic 25%

Atletico had some recent failures, so I expect them to recover in this Europa League-like Group.
Fight for places 2-3-4 will be great, with Celtic finishing in another 4th place.

Actually one of the most interesting groups imo

I can see this one ending with all 4 on 8-12 points, athletico have to be favourites, lazio are not the team they were and lost home and away to celtic a few years ago, and there was trouble between Mussilinis granddaughter and the celtic fans

Always liked rotterdam and with the great form Dutch teams have been on the last 2 season can see them perhaps topping the group

Celtic are one of the least deserving teams in the CL this season. They've consistently failed to qualify for the CL in recent years, losing to the likes of Ferencvaros and Midtjylland, and only made it the last two times because they were put directly in it. Last seasons they were bottom and I expect them to be bottom again. If Atletico Madrid get back to their good old selves and make last season's performance a bad memory, they should top this group. I expect Lazio to be 2nd.

1. Atletico Madrid
2. Lazio
3. Feyenoord

Expecting Celltic to lose 6 times; they've neither the players nor tactical werewithall to compete at this level of competition. Polak is quite correct in stating that their place in this tournament is ill-deserved and a consequence of other teams within the national association performing well for many years.
