Very curious as to how Lucescu will approach this game.
Is he going to start the game cautiously like in Scotland, or go for an early blitz to take advantage of the "Toumba-effect" on Aberdeen?
The starting 11 should reveal the approach.
What sort of attendance is expected tonight? I noticed that tickets were still for sale on the PAOK website.

But at this point nobody would be content with anything other than a record-breaking 7th-consecutive European W!
I predict a 2-1 win for PAOK with the winning goal on the 96th minute! :grin1:

No sold-out was announced, but it looks pretty packed on tv.

Seso's prediction still possible.

Looks packed indeed. A fine is on its way from our friends of UEFA as the stairs are crowded with our fans.
PAOK is not a club. PAOK is a cultural phenomenon.

I did worry PAOK might hit Aberdeen with a late sucker punch again but thankfully it didn't come. Good luck to them in the next round however I don't see them staying in for long from what I've seen in the 4 games they played Scottish opposition

This post was on my mind as well as we moved into injury time and PAOK were storming the goal.

They're both already qualified with 2 games to spare.

Now they still have to decide who wins the group. It will only be settled in round 5 if PAOK wins in Germany, otherwise the decision will be postponed to round 6.

They won the group!

They have more points here than the other three Greek teams combined in the EL. Perhaps one, two or even all three will join them in Conference League in the new year. They're all in similar circumstances, all only needing to avoid defeat against the last placed teams in their groups that didn't win a single game yet.

Late November was terrible for HJK. Their UYL team was eliminated by Nantes in a penalty shootout. And now the senior team failed to win its match against Aberdeen, and even if they win their remaining game in Greece, it will still be worse than their previous participation in the Conference League where they got 6 points. :upset:

1. Eintracht Frankfurt
2. PAOK
3. Helsinki
4. Aberdeen
PAOK was a pleasant surprise, while Helsinki were extremely poor.

From an Aberdeen perspective Helsinki were the only team that met my expectations. I expected Frankfurt to destroy us in Germany, and they lost the reserves match tonight without looking like scoring. PAOK were poor at Pittodrie, benefitted from a huge VAR mistake and defensive blunders to somehow get 3 points instead of zero. However, they should have won the return fixture with the chances they had.

Frankfurt was disappointing here despite advancing (like Dinamo Zagreb in Group C).

Only 9 points, that's less than last season in CL (10 points), less than two seasons ago in EL (12 points), as much as four seasons ago in EL (9 points), less than five seasons ago in EL (18 points) and less than ten seasons ago (15 points).

This is Conference League, it's should be easier than EL or CL, so Frankfurt should collect more points, not less. :upset:

I was right about top 2 and bottom 2, but wrong about their orders.

Initial prediction
Frankfurt are far head of the rest of them. PAOK have weak enough opponents so should be able to finish 2nd. HJK and Aberdeen are left to fight for some remaining points.

1. Frankfurt
2. PAOK
3. Aberdeen
4. HJK
Actual table
1. PAOK
2. Frankfurt
3. Aberdeen
4. HJK
Got the qualifiers correct just the wrong way round and 3rd and 4th correct also. Great performance by PAOK. That's the kind of performance I was expecting from Frankfurt to be honest.

In the bizarre case of Aberdeen accusing PAOK fans of racist behavior during the MD4 game between the two sides, UEFA has yesterday closed the investigation.

I would suggest PAOK FC should not let this slide.

The player and club should be punished for making up ridiculous, unfounded accusations.
PAOK will face no further punishment after UEFA shut down the investigation into their fans' alleged racist abuse of Aberdeen star Papa Gueye.
Now, after having looked into the matter, UEFA have closed the case.

A spokesperson said: "There was an investigation and the disciplinary bodies ultimately closed the proceedings."
