They're not the old perennial 4th place finishing Arsenal though.Polak wrote: ↑Wed Sep 20, 2023 23:00 Wow just seen what has been going on in Lisbon. What a result for the Austrians. Also, for those criticising us who predicted that PSV might finish above Sevilla in their group, how about that home draw against the bottom team in Ligue 1. Still so sure Sevilla are going to be in the top 2?
Oh they'll roar through the group and then get beaten comfortably in the knock out stage, as usual.Lorric wrote:It's been a long, long time, but Arsenal make a roaring return to the CL putting PSV to the sword. FT 4-0.
Though they are, despite only dropping 2pts so far, currently sitting in 4th.

Arsenal will be ko'd by Bayern for sure.
With Kane banging in a hat trick to make it sting even more than before.
So they will advance at least to the quarters. Probably they will both win their groups.

Good match from Braga, good football, good chances, huge mistakes also but huge change from what we have saw from domestic matches.
We still might get off with 0-0-6 but tonight we go home with head up.

Starting with a 1-1 draw is still better than starting with a 0-4 defeat.Polak wrote: ↑Wed Sep 20, 2023 23:00 Wow just seen what has been going on in Lisbon. What a result for the Austrians. Only one big surprise Benfica's home loss to Salzburg. Galatasaray's and Sevilla's home draws only minor upsets, everything else is paperform.
Starting away at Arsenal is different to starting at home to LensDragonite wrote: ↑Wed Sep 20, 2023 23:11Starting with a 1-1 draw is still better than starting with a 0-4 defeat.Polak wrote: ↑Wed Sep 20, 2023 23:00 Wow just seen what has been going on in Lisbon. Sevilla and Lens Will Also lose in London. Last game psv-Arsenal, with arsenal allready sure about last 16. Good chance for psv to become 2e in this group.Dragonite wrote: ↑Wed Sep 20, 2023 23:11Starting with a 1-1 draw is still better than starting with a 0-4 defeat.Polak wrote: ↑Wed Sep 20, 2023 23:00 Wow just seen what has been going on in Lisbon. I did not see the game. Napoli fans are very unhappy with the performance, despite the win.rpo.castro wrote: ↑Wed Sep 20, 2023 23:09 Good match from Braga, good football, good chances, huge mistakes also but huge change from what we have saw from domestic matches.

Chaotic, but entertaining game in Munich. As Polak said, Bayern should have scored much more, while United were very effective in the 2nd half. Every little chance was a goal.
I would have cheered for Braga if it wasn't the group with Union who probably fight for the 3rd place with them. Even though Napoli seems to be weaker under Garcia, so who knows.
Typical Inter, they'll sneak their way through the group and then get the easiest possible draws again in the KO stage.
I doubt that Benfica would have lost a home game to Salzburg with 11 vs 11. What a luxury to play against 10 men the whole game. Even more interesting group now, Real Sociedad also looked better than I thought.

They were not superior to Braga. Was an even game. I think 1-1 was the best result. The 2nd goal was a collection of mistakes.matt wrote: ↑Wed Sep 20, 2023 23:19I did not see the game. And Napoli was neve underwhelming. They were more physical and dangerous on corners and free kicks, had good chances but wasn't a one way game as expected, especially after getting the lead.
This Napoli looks a shadow of past season. Rudi Garci was in Saudi Arabi. I don't think he is good enough to be chosen to manage the italian champion.
Typical = last year? 'Cause before that, we reached the RO16 only once out of 4 times and we got LiverpoolBurningStorm wrote: ↑Wed Sep 20, 2023 23:20 Typical Inter, they'll sneak their way through the group and then get the easiest possible draws again in the KO stage.
Btw, good results both in San Sebastián (lucky draw, and 2 pts dropped by la Real) and in Lisboa (no win for Benfica, Antonio Silva dsq in San Siro). It's still a group we can realistically top as well as finish 3rd...
