Now they did their homework, as expected. They signed former Stuttgart striker Sasa Kalajdzic (2m tall) from Wolverhampton on loan. Plus Hugo Ekitiké from PSG, also on loan (with an option to buy). So one clear striker in the box and one agile player around him. It was ridiculous that they didn't do their job before the season, but better late than never. For the midfield, Eintracht got Donny van de Beek from ManUnited, also on loan with buy option (11m €). He was outstanding at Ajax, but couldn't show anything at United (that happens to a lot of players lately, right?)BurningStorm wrote: ↑Thu Nov 30, 2023 23:20 Eintracht will finally buy a striker and Muani replacement for the 2nd half of the season. I think this was a big factor why they missed the group win, I already said it after the draw months ago. The goal was to survive the (easy) group and then buy a replacement. It was weird to sell their best player when the transfer window in Germany was already closed.
So they really improved their squad. This doesn't mean USG isn't a potential threat anymore. Very hard nut to crack for ECL standards.
