I was rather alarmed by some of the content of the Daily Telegraph article I posted above, but I feel re-assured now that ECA is as equally comitted to sporting merit and solidarity as UEFA after re-reading the UEFA-ECA Memorandum of Understanding which was renewed recently until 2030; included in article A3 are:

A.3 UEFA and ECA share the following values and principles

a commitment to the principle of solidarity as a key element necessary for the healthy and balanced development of football;

a commitment to ensure that standards and principles of good governance, such as accountability, democracy, stakeholder participation/representation and transparency are firmly embedded within football governance structures;

a commitment to promote and reinforce the financial sustainability of European club football;

a commitment to open and balanced sporting competitions;

the recognition of the specific nature of sport and therefore the proper autonomy of its governing bodies as generally recognised;

a commitment to protect and develop a large and healthy professional football pyramid;

a commitment to invest in and promote the training of young talented players in the long-term interest of football;

a commitment to ensure that players benefit from suitable education pathways throughout their sporting careers;

a commitment to fair play and to the fight against racism, doping, violence, match-fixing and corruption in football; and

a commitment to close collaboration and collective action to accelerate the promotion of effective environmental sustainability and social responsibility policies and actions in European football.

State that there will be a SL somewhere in the near future. How will the Uefa and domestic system look like then?
Domestic leagues with all teams?
Some will play in SL
Some will play in Uefa leagues.

Can teams try to qualify for one and if they fail try the other?
Will it mean that qualification spots in domestic leagues are dependend on teams that got to SL (leave them out of ranking).

Or will domestic leagues have to choose in advance. Either SL either Uefa?

The ruling of the EU court says that the clubs are free to choose in which international league they want to play. For decades we have only had one football association in Europe, soon we will get another Superliga, maybe a third or fourth football association will appear in the future. The basis of the ruling is that no one has a monopoly over clubs and cannot ban them because they want to play in another or third international league, as well as the football players of that club.
This means that in the future we will see German, Czech, Swedish...clubs in various international leagues. :applause:
