Both matches were played at the same venue in Morocco, since neither team could play their home match in their own country.

Yep, especially because of that. Away goal rule is rubbish regardless.amenina wrote: ↑Tue Mar 26, 2024 23:15Both matches were played at the same venue in Morocco, since neither team could play their home match in their own country.
CAF and CONCACAF still use it in their own competition, but other confederations don't use it anymore. Also won't be used in WCQ of any confederation since FIFA rules also do not use away goals rule starting from 2026 WCQ. So both the BVI-USVI and Turks & Caicos-Anguilla ties went to extra time (and later penalties) without being decided by away goals rule.MercedesBenz240 wrote: ↑Tue Mar 26, 2024 23:31Yep, especially because of that. As I'm reading, it doesn't look like it's completely eliminated, just as a tiebreaker in a home/away elimination round. So some confederations will still use it as a tiebreaker in a round robinamenina wrote: ↑Tue Mar 26, 2024 23:34CAF and CONCACAF still use it in their own competition, but other confederations don't use it anymore.
