By that logic European teams would get 5*3pts for byes for the 5 qualifying rounds!

For confederations other than UEFA, all teams get 3 points for participating in the group stage. Since CONCACAF Champions League/Cup does not have a group stage, the round of 16 is considered the "group stage", so Alajuelense will definitely have at least 3 points for 2024.
